Dr. Mary Loretta Moran, MD

I found her personable and professional. Even though my osteo issues aren't too advanced and didn't need treatment at this time, she spent plenty of time answering all my questions and laying out what I should do in the coming year and when I should have another scan. She also gave me some great advice on a non-rheumatological issue that solved it for me. I'll return when necessary.

I've been going to Dr. Moran for 30 years. I am the kind of person that doesn't want to be bothered with being sick, so I look for and embrace a doctor that does what she needs to do, answers what I need answers, and gets me in and out of there. That's my choice. For those who want more time with her, I would simply request it. I am guessing you have not tried that. She knows what she is doing and has kept me virtually in remission for 30 years so that is what is important to me. I know enough about her life to know she is very human and could just need for her patients to share what they want from her. If you don't like her follow ups, simply tell her that. I have never had to wait for a prescription to be called in. Her assistant is also fabulous.

Smart - but I often feel like appointments are rapid fire.

I think she cares, but is too busy. She could slow down a bit to help educate her patients. TERRIBLE at getting back to you and refilling Rx.

At the onset of my Rheumetoid, she diagnosed it well. Ever since then she has addressed my needs well. She does not spend a lot of time with me, but she is thourough.

At first she was good.she dignost me correctly.but when i was in a flare up and in pain she didn't want to be bothered. Her appointments were 5 min long and a waste of time.Her bed side manner was terrible. I did change doctors in the same practis and he was great.

Initially, Dr. Moran provided very good care as she treated me for a rheumatological disorder. However, Illinois Bone and Joint, the multi-speciality medical group where she practices, is so poorly run that patient care is ultimately compromised. In my case, I recently waited nearly seven weeks for a prescription refill despite my repeated calls to her office and a pharmacy's efforts to submit requests to her electronically and via phone. She also left for a two week vacation during this time period, leaving a medical assistant with limited training handling virtually all of her calls. Undoubtedly, Dr. Moran has years of experience and outstanding training, but significant improvements need to be made to practice management and efficiency.

I visited this dr when i needed care and she treated me like a quick in and out patient, less than 2 weeks later I had a horrible flare up that landed me in the hospital for over a month, I am slowly recovering but due to her lack of care my condition was worse than it would have been if she took the time to care in the first place. don't risk your health seeking a dr like this please.
