Dr. Mary Barbara Toporcer, MD

Dr. Toporcer is an outstanding dermatologist. My doctor for 25+ years, she expertly treated my basal and squamous skin cancers with compassion and skill. Highly recommend.

Minnie is obstinate in that she refuses to prescribe FDA approved medications because, by her own statement, she doesn’t trust reviewed studies. She wasn’t knowledgeable in the field I went to see her for and she in fact allowed my situation to get worse because she refused to prescribe the medicine required and instead wanted to go down a homeopathic route, which isn’t what I wanted. When my condition worsened to a point beyond return, she suggested surgery, which I found very frustrating because I came here to avoid surgery. She is unclear in her direction to the point where when I asked her assisting nurse to repeat the direction, she did not know what it was either. Minnie did not listen to me as the patient and ignored what I was telling her entirely during examination and just keeps talking over me. I would recommend avoiding this nurse practitioner, she is a poor quality provider who seems to base her medical guidance on gut feeling rather than evidence and medical consensus,… and in my case at least, made the wrong call 100% of the time.

Dr. Toporcer is kind, caring, thorough and extremely intelligent. She treats all of her patients like they’re her own family and goes above and beyond. She’s very knowledgeable about all the current trends. Sure, the wait time is long, but this is true with most doctors and she’s actually worth it! I’d trust her with my life.

I have never been to such an awful dermatologist. Not only did she have a terrible attitude the entire doctor’s visit, but when I told her what was wrong she looked at me like I was crazy! She claimed that there was nothing that she could do! Thanks for wasting my time and money!

I see Minnie, the nurse practitioner. Minnie is knowledgeable, thorough and kind. I recommend their office for dermatology.

Have nothing but positives about Dr. Toporcer. She has been my dermatologist for at least 10 years. Friendly (as are her front desk administrators), thorough, and always responsive even when i've needed to see her with minimal notice due to any concerns i might have.
