I'm a physician, and have had an eating disorder for the past 25 years. I have been in 4 long-term residential treatment programs, numerous partial hospitalizations (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient treatments. I never was able to have long-term success before relapsing. I started seeing Dr. Lissak in 2016 every week for about 6 months. It was a struggle and not without bumps and setbacks, but he made me start to believe that I could truly recover. It's been 5 years since I started seeing Dr. Lissak and I've been doing extremely well. Almost to the point where I don't even think about food any more. I never thought I would get to this place. Dr. Lissak's approach and knowledge of the disease was unlike any other psychiatrist that I've worked with (and I've worked with more than I can count). He literally saved my life and I will be forever grateful to him. He has my highest recommendation for anyone who is suffering from an eating disorder.

Manages to combine a very high degree of professionalism and expertise with strong compassion and understanding. Dedicated, insightful and generous, with a comprehensive approach to eating disorders that leads to real and long lasting results. I could not be more satisfied.

Dr. Lissak, Is amazing. He always makes sure you are comfortable and is genuine and caring. Hard to find a Psychiatrist with his dedication and caring.I'd go no where else.

Dr. Lissak is a rare psychiatrist. He is available, attentive, makes you comfortable and is extremely knowledgeable. Getting a therapist or psychiatrist is such a difficult experience. You are vulnerable. Dr. Lissak has the best therapeutic demeanor of any mental health professional I have known, and sad to say, I've known many. You will get actual help which will help you to actually change, and not only that, but you will never feel like you are wasting time, uncomfortable, or like you are throwing money away, or hopeless. He is a true credit to psychotherapy, and I cannot say enough good things about him.
