He is the best qualified compassionate md who saved my 88-year-old husband's life through green light laser surgery. Highly recommend Dr Matthew Rutman.

Avoid this guy at all costs. I knew I had a UTI but he said I couldn't have one without a fever, though he never took a urine sample to run a culture. Gave me cranberry pills and sent me away. Two days later, I'm in the ER with 104.5 fever and a raging UTI. The urine culture showed 5 different strains of bacteria. This infection got out of control and was difficult to overcome. As a cancer patient, I could have died from his error. What good is a urologist who can't diagnose a UTI?

He tells my wife utis which she has had forever, it's in her head. Never mind she has been doubled over in pain and in the er constantly. Cares more about shilling his products ( some cranberry supplement that costs 100 bucks) than trying to find a solution. Needs his license taken away as he basically blames and patronizes you instead of trying to help.

I was referred to this poor excuse for a medical practitioner by a urologist I trusted. Big mistake. He treated me for the wrong thing for half a year until I finally went for another opinion and learned I had stage 3 bladder cancer. This incompetent never bothered to do a bladder biopsy even though I had all the symptoms to warrant one. He’s a used car salesman in a lab coat trying to sell you on a surgery you don’t need while ignoring your real needs. Two words: STAY AWAY

I wish he were single so my daughter could marry him. An excellent compassionate bedside manner. I avoided an unnecessary surgery because Dr. Rutman took the time to listen to my story and read through my records. He is truly a gem.

I didn't like him at first as he seemed to do what all urologists i believe are trained to do and try and make you think your kidney infection or uti is in your head. A relative working at the mayo clinic and 2 working at this particular hospital told me what i had was a relapsing uti from under treatment which had grown stronger and my ID (infectious Dr.) ..who is one of the best in the country and been in thousands of magazines over the decades knows what he is doing so once i told him my Dr. had not sent me to him to get a second opinion (ie: find a reason to stop my treatment) ..that i was the one who wanted to see if there was anything getting in the way of the medicine working and i only needed him to perform the test (cystoscopy) and that my Dr. could handle it from there..once that was cleared up and we understood each other i really liked him and know he was just doing what Dr's are trained to do ( not treat, or under treat bacterial infections allowing them to become… sepsis) and probably would never do anything that cruel if he didn't feel pressure from the hospital to do so.I first saw another dr there ..a woman who was a nightmare..she was cold and rough and i would never have allowed her to do the procedure and the woman she then referred me to i had read atrocious things about..so many bad reviews that i was prompted to ask a woman that worked there if she could really be that awful and she did say yes, that Dr (blank) was very strict and cold. So i chose Dr Rutman and he (other than the beginning meeting) was gentle and did the procedure really well..i didn't even bleed. I highly recommend him, though not for a UTI or kidney infection-see an infectious disease Dr for that or your primary if it is an uncomplicated one. I hope never to need a urologist again but would definitely see him if i needed further testing as he was not harsh or rough at all and i don't think anyone could have done a better job.

Great surgeon and an even nicer physician. He was my 3rd opinion and thank goodness I found him. I can't recommend him enough!

I saw 5 different specialist before I saw him. He was phenomenal. Explains things in a way to a layperson can understand. Great surgeon. 5 surgeons prior said I had to live with a catheter. He did my surgery and I urinate like a 21 year old.

A superb surgeon and personable young man. Patients couldn't be in better hands!
