Dr.Burrows is an amazing doctor who throughout the years has really gone out of her way for me. She always listens and really cares about her patients. I feel lucky to have found her as my doctor!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Burrows for a couple of years. She is an excellent doctor and I would recommend her to anyone. She is one of those very rare doctors that sees you on time, spends 30 minutes with you, listens to all your concerns, explains things thoroughly, follows-up, and keeps working with you on management of your conditions. She calls you personally with labs results (wow!) Her assistant is also excellent. I like her so much that even though she is not covered by my insurance plan, I am very happy to pay out of pocket. Dr. Burrows is a really smart, caring person. I am a tough case to tweak medications for, and she has done a fantastic job for me. She listens and helps personally when what she has to work with is an imprecise science. She has taken me (a fully functional professional working person) from the bottom of my world, to a good place, and is helping me continue to feel hopeful and happy.

really does care about her patients.not too clinical in her demeanor, does not talk down to you either. friendly and caring. not offended easily. actually listens to you but also tries to keep you focused which is important. she understands the value of medication in many cases (anxiety for me) but also won't put you on anything you don't feel comfortable with. she spent extra time with me (without delaying her other appts) because i was late because could not find the office.... speaking of which....the address on this site is WRONG. she is at 38th and jefferson, not on 34th st.

Dr. Burrows is the best psychiatrist I have encountered. She always spends time catching up on what is going on in my life, and often asks about things we discussed the previous visit. She is the first doctor who has considered that maybe I'm not bipolar and I have been doing great on an antidepressant for a year now. She is easy to talk to and I don't feel the power dynamic working in the room that I've felt with other doctors. I would definitely recommend going to her. I will agree with a previous entry that some of the office staff is rude, although her personal secretary Tamara is incredible.

Dr. Burrows reminds me of the song "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd. She will turn her back on a psychiatric patient during their most critical time of need. This is certainly not what a psychiatrist is for. Additionally, Dr. Burrows lacks the intuition necessary to appropriately assist patients and diagnose problems, though she did make a futile attempt. She is a relatively new doctor, so perhaps she will gain more clinical expertise and competence over time. However, at this time I strongly caution against choosing her as a member of your healthcare team.On a side note, her office staff is extremely rude and obnoxious, making for an unpleasant experience with each interaction.

I understand that not everyone likes their physician but with psychological issues, sometimes it takes awhile to determine what medication will work with each person.I have the exact opposite experience with Dr. Burrows. She does write the RX for me but will actually sit and talk to me for longer than my appointment time. I didn't expect her to spend so much time with me, actually, and I find her open, frank and easy to talk to. I don't suffer from depression or any other major mental illness, so perhaps my perception is different.My dad is a psychiatrist and my husband is a physician so I am aware of what to expect.I think she's great.
