Dr. Michael Leonard Edelson, MD

Dr Edelson was my OB during both of my pregnancies. My first was a text book pregnancy, not issues, complications or even sickness. My second pregnancy was not the same. Dr told me that I had total placenta previa- I wasn't even placenta previa, merely a low lying placenta. My last trimester of pregnancy was horrible. I was itching uncontrollably and wasn't able to sleep. I mentioned this to him and he may as well have patted me on the head while he told me it was just my body getting ready for the baby. Uhm. No. I'd been pregnant before and this wasn't normal. Edelson prescribed phenodrine (anti nausea meds) to "help me sleep". After not sleeping at all for an entire weekend, I called the emergency after hours number and spoke to another doctor he practiced with. That doctor had me come in the next day, ran tests (I had chloresistis of pregnancy) and found that my bile salt levels were 4 times the normal. During my regular follow up appointment, I heard Edelson say he didn't order the… tests, he wasn't signing off on them, and then he refused to acknowledge or advise me that this condition was actually EXTREMELY dangerous for my son. He ordered a nonstress test to be done, and an additional ultrasound and found out that this "silly pregnant woman" actually knew better than he that something was seriously wrong. My amniotic fluid was too high and my son failed the nonstress test. I was induced that day. I'm glad it wasn't Edelson that actually delivered either of my children. He is arrogant, rude and dismissive of a valid concern. I don't know, maybe he's been doing this so long he has lost the ability to distinguish between genuine concern and hysteria of patients that are hypochondriacs. I know he didn't listen to me, I had surgery to remove my gall bladder 6 weeks after having my son, and came close to losing my job- I mean that's what happens when you don't sleep for an entire week because you have a medical condition your doctor didn't even think to look into when he heard your complaints. Don't use him unless you have no other option, and then pray that it's a text book pregnancy.

Extremely rude & hateful!!! Downplayed the problems with my pregnancy & also the loss of my baby!! Do not go to him, unless you want to be treated like crap!!!!! Very arrogant smart alec!! I will NEVER go to him again!!!

I've been a patient of Dr.Edelson for almost 18 years. He delivered my son and two daughters. He's always compassionate and understanding. Very easy to talk to and listens to your concerns.

This man was going to let me and my baby die. He told me I was a paranoid first time mom....I actually had HELLP syndrome, which is fatal to mother and child if not delivered immediately. Had it not been for another doctor in the practice, I fully believe that both my child and myself would be dead at this man's hands. Worst doctor ever.

Said there was nothing wrong with me after being in pain for 7 years. I then got a second opinion and had a laparotomy done where a baseball and golfball size endometriomas were found. Also had a repeat laparoscopy where dr Edelson performed the first with nothing found but new dr found my bowel and uterus were adhered together. Don't go to this guy, very rude and arrogant!!!

Did an exploratory laparoscopy after feeling knots in abdomen at c-section scar and thought they were scar tissue or endometriosis After the surgery I was told he didn't dine anything. The next month I went to PCP in extreme pain in the knots and she ordered an ultrasound. The results were endometriosis in the c-section scar, also known as endometriomas. I took the results back to him and he said there was nothing wrong with me and if he did surgery to remove them it would be a waisted one. Just had surgery two days ago by a great dr who found a golfball and baseball size endometriomas and where dr Edelson did the laparoscopy he missed where my uterus and bowel were adhered together. Please do not use this dr, very arrogant and rude!
