Dr. Gutman completed a surgical internship at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, Ontario and his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Toronto, Ontario. He also served as an emergency medicine resident at the University of Ottawa and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver where he was chief resident. He immigrated to Hartford CT were he was an Attending Emergency Physician at St. Francis Hospital from 1995 to present. He has also served as EMS medical director from 1996 to 2012. In 2002 Dr. Gutman volunteered to serve in the US Army and was deployed 3 times to combat zones between 2003 and 2008, 2 of those being in Iraq. In 2011 Dr. Gutman amd his wife Yahel started their own Urgent Care business and he is now President and Medical Director of a growing Urgent Care system in central Connecticut called New England Urgent Care (NEUC). NEUC sees over 30 thousand patients a year and is characterized by the ability to deliver most of the services that the Emergency …department does except faster, much less expensively and very customer oriented.
