Dr. Michael Douglas Hellman, MD

If you need a knee or hip replacement you can’t do better than Dr. Michael Hellman. But, don’t take my word for it. My recovery was miraculous and all my caregivers from nurses to occupational therapists to rehabilitation specialists all had one question: “Who was your surgeon”. But, I have one big complaint. He moved from the San Francisco Bay area to Kansas City. Now when I get my other knee done I may have to go there. All of my friends who had replacements using other doctors have told me how envious of me they are.

Terrible doctor and man, and I'm not one of his addicts. He's a glorified drug dealer who ruins lives.

Horrible manners and didn't seem interested in me or my situation at all. I don't think he let me finish a single sentence. I would not recommend going to him.

Wow... Going to Dr Hellman's office ruined my day. I was reading the reviews while I was waiting in the waiting room and I was thinking that he can't be that bad, well it was. The man will put you down and treat you like the scum of the earth. He will tell you things that you have done even if you've never done it. He calls you a liar and make sure he gets the last word in. He wants to fight with you just to see how you will react. That man should not be dealing with addicts because one day he is going make the wrong one mad. Please find another Dr. He will take your money and not help you even a little. He wrote me two perscritions that I didn't even need. He didn't take the time to get to know me. As soon as I sat down and he turned his camera on the real Dr. Hellman showed and was bad enough that I will never go back. I had to stop myself from leaping over his table that's for sure.

Worst doctor I have ever seen in my fifty years.Don't go to him.Find a real md.

Never met anyone so mean and condesending. He actually took my $250 and gave me nothing...for no reason. Urine test good, I did nothing wrong. Please do not get into his trap like I did.

I've never seen or talked to a doctor like Dr. Michael Hellman. He doesn't really have manners or respect when he speaks to clients that needs help in recovery. He compares his recovery/addictions to other clients addictions. I've talked to multiple people that seen him ,and they didn't have anything nice to say. Apparently 50 percent of patients doesn't like his counseling but still goes so they won't go back to their old bad addictions including myself. Anyways, he could be a great doctor if he wasn't so judgmental, rude, and disrespectful. The environment was a great vibe and relaxing. The representation was polite and well mannered. Also very clean and organized . Trying to find another doctor in the area.

This is the 1st review I have ever written on line and am sorry to say that anyone giving this selfish, disturbed man a 5 star rating needs serious help or is someone paid to do so by this animal. He, without doubt needs medical attention himself. Over the years, I have worked with 100's of doctors, either personally or professionally and will say without hesitation, that Dr. Hellman is not only the worst MD, but is also a very miserable person himself. He is a very sick and twisted individual ! I actually feel sorry for this man but more sorry I wasted over 3 hours of my time (Average wait time) and $200 of my money to be told things that are not true. Please believe me !!! You will feel worse about your condition regardless of your motivation to see him. He doesn't even deserve 1 star. A truly awful experience. My score: -12..!!.. Absolutely pathetic !!!!!!!

It is extremely easy to get an appointment here because after your second visit, I doubt anyone ever comes back. You can't even call this man a doctor. On my first appointment, he was pleasant enough. He prescribed me 2 medications and makes the pharmacy fill ALL or NONE of the prescriptions. That is hard when you don't have insurance. But the second visit was horrible. I was called a liar, a loser, a f*ck up, and a shameful human being. I am so glad he can make all these judgments, without even knowing my name. I have thick skin, so I let it roll off my back. If you are easy to upset or get your feelings hurt, this is not the doctor you want to see. If you need an appointment right away, this is the place to go. But do yourself a favor and start searching for a new doctor right away.
