Doesnt listen. Doesnt follow up. It's good he is not involved in direct pt care anymore. I didnt care for him as my Dr. At the end of the visit he would get up and walk out before you. Seemed burned out

May 16th, 2012

Dr. Hooper was the doctor on call today. Came in with a 'bulls eye" rash after pulling a tick out two days ago. Complained of stiff neck, flu like symptoms and headache. Dr. Hooper states "Lyme disease is rare in California compared to back east". Said, "there was no need for antibiotics since you are not running a fever". I had to INSIST on having the minimum of 2 weeks of doxycycline which was given begrudgingly. We are located in an 'edemic' area for Lyme disease according to the most recent reports from the Placer County Public Health Dept and most recently was put on 'alert' for Lyme positive ticks being tested in all 5 sites they usually test for. There is NO WAY I would recommend Dr. Hooper after today

He is a good Dr. But he never takes enough time to fully listen. He always seems to be in a big hurry and you just may be wasting his time
