Gave absolutely no information as to post treatment care of an unscheduled laser retinal procedure. Never clearly defined diagnosis for condition initially requested, as well as no follow up for surgical procedure. Problems related to post op condition of affected retina were not addressed by Ward specifically and took 2 days to get a useless nonspecific response. NEVER AGAIN!

Preemie Infant waited almost 2 hours beyond appointment time.

Posted on March 28th, 2013

First: Dr. Ward provided great care once in the exam room, it is without question that he is an excellent doctor. But...our Preemie Infant that was released from the NICU less than a week prior, we were told to go see Dr. Ward for a follow up. We were kept in the waiting room for 1 hour & 45 minutes beyond our appointment time, to which we arrived 10 minutes early. No update on the wait, no offer to reschedule, just left sitting there with a child that was getting hungrier and more agitated as the time passed. Preemies should never be out in public unless medically necessary, so waiting almost 2 hours in a waiting room filled with germs and the general public seems almost counterproductive. I understand that appointment times are not exact, and doctors fall behind, but keeping an infant with a compromised immune system waiting for almost 2 hours falls well below the level of professionalism expected from an office that is recommended by a level 3 NICU.

Doctor's Response

We greatly apologize for your wait during your visit with your child and we aim to continually improve the service we provide our patients. We value your input and strive to provide great service and will continually work on our patient wait times as well as clearly communicating wait times to our patients.
