Dr. Michael Lee Pipkin, MD

He is literally 71 years old and doesn't seem to have any knowledge on updated psychiatry or disorders/problems present in the current generation in the slightest

Extremely dismissive, didn't even let me tell my entire story before brushing me off and giving a reason that barely qualifies as a real reason as to how theres "nothing psychologically wrong" with me and invalidated everything I told him, which was incredibly vulnerable information. I've never been made to feel this horrible by someone who possesses an MD and took a vow as a doctor to actually help those in need of treatment. What a terrible physician as well as basic human being.

He is no good

I have been seeing Dr. Pipkin for 20 years and dread the day he retires. He got me through what was very close to a complete breakdown to see sunshine again. I have referred multiple friends and family member to him

I highly recommend Dr. Pipkin for those seeking psychiatric medical treatment. People have commented about feeling disconnected from him-- he is a PSYCHIATRIST, not a PSYCHOLOGIST. There is a difference. His job is to diagnose and medically treat the problem. I have been going to him for 15 years (since I was 14 yrs old), and he has always been reliable and understanding. He is literally a life-saver.

I saw Dr. Pipkin many times over a span of a few years. He is pleasant and very smart (which I appreciated). I was quickly diagnosed (and medicated), and had meds switched several times subsequently. My concern is that I never felt cared for...he seemed disengaged, and the sessions went nowhere. If you turn to him for med management, which seems to be his expertise, try to minimize your contact with the admin asst, Charolette.

Dr. Pipkin is very hard to get a hold of. He has a woman working in the office, but she does not set appts. (doesn't even have his appt. book.) She misunderstands charges, fees, who you are, why you are calling...etc. She is basically useless.

I would recommend this physician to anyone. He is caring and professional. Dr. Pipkin is easy to reach, easy to communicate with, and you never feel as if he will leave you standed whether emergency or not. This is a most excellent psychiatriast whom I am very happy was referred to me.
