Dr. Michael Thomas Margolis, MD

Dr. Margolis performed laparoscopic surgery for cystocele, rectocele, Burch procedure, and colpopexy related to severely prolapsed uterus (an assistant GYN performed the hysterectomy) on January 2022. I feel great two years after the surgery, although it took about 10 days after the surgery to not be in a lot of recovery pain but everything progressed extremely well. I recommend Dr. Margolis highly and I felt extremely comfortable in his care. I also do Pilates three days a week to maintain my pelvic floor strength. The surgery only goes as far as the muscles can support everything in my opinion. Thank you Dr. Margolis for your skill as a surgeon and for practicing the true art of medicine.

After having a hysterectomy I found that my surgeon had also implanted a mesh sling. I absolutely did not want mesh and was also experiencing bladder problems. Dr. Margolis was very understanding as he does not believe in using mesh at all. He immediately agreed to remove as much of the mesh sling as possible. Kelly in the office was great in helping me get everything set up.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Margolis' office. For one, after the surgery I had an awful infection which had me out of work and back in his office multiple times. After 6 weeks fighting through that, I am now dealing with the fact that the surgery did NOT even work. I am told by a new doctor that Dr Margolis actually does a MMK method and not a true Burch which is what I was told would be done. So now I need to have this surgery again...very disappointed and unhappy!

I was referred to the office of Dr. MICHAEL T. MARGOLIS by my primary physician. Before scheduling an appointment, I had asked if the doctor takes my insurance and I was assured that it is accepted. Upon coming to the office, I was confirmed again that this doctor is within my Cigna network and I was charged (used my credit card) $70 co-pay as written on my insurance card. Accordingly, I have received the receipt of a named charge of $70. After appointment I have received a call from the doctor’s Margolis office and I was told that now they figured out that Dr. Michael T. Margolis is not taking my insurance and is not in a network of supported providers. Therefore, I must pay $450 for this office visit immediately out of pocket. I explained that I have asked them prior to my appointment if they take my insurance and only after confirmation I set up the appointment. If I would be provided with the correct information about this doctor not being part of the Network Providers for Cigna… insurance, I could find another doctor to go with, who is covered by my insurance. So, I refused to pay the additional amount requested. A few days later I found that the Dr. Margolis office charged my Credit Card which was given to them to charge $70 and instead they charged me $450 without any consent and agreement with me. The office of Dr.Margolis also sent me another receipt with the charge of $450 from my card and explanation of the charge: Code 99205 Complex- $450. I immediately objected providing the receipt for $70 issued by the office at the day of service. I filed the complaint with my CC providing the receipt of $70 received in the office. The credit card issued credit - $325. Why they issued this amount I can’t figure this out. That means that I have paid to Dr.Margolis office $120 instead of initial co-pay in the amount of $70.margolis

I had my bladder repair in 2013, Dr. Margolis told me this should last a lifetime. Now after having a full hysterectomy, bladder repair, 6 weeks out of work a year later I was worse off than when I started. He and his staff were very professional and treated me very well, but to tell someone that this BIG operation they are having should last the rest of my life was a mistake. I would have never had the operation if I knew it was only going to give me a year of relief. My Gynocolgist (new one that I found after this operation) says that he was trying to fix my bladder with already damaged tissue and for me ( not everyone) this operation would never last and should not have been done. Now she says I will have bigger problems down the road. The year that the bladder correction worked was amazing, I just wish it would have lasted a lifetime like Dr. Margolis told me.

There was no planning and in the middle of the surgery it turns out he was in over his head, has to have another doctor do surgery the next day. Paid for 2 surgeries. If you suspect cancer, please do yourself a favor and go to a cancer specialty group that has all doctors from surgeons to hematologist with pre surgery testing and coordination. Going to dr margolis was an opportunity lost

If you need a bladder lift after childbirth as most of us do please do not let any doctor tell you to use the "Sling." Women come from all over the country to work with Dr. Margolis. After an easy outpatient surgery I have my pre-childbirth bladder and uretha back. Take the time to speak to him. He works out of Burlingame and Los Gatos, CA.

Compassionate? I don't know about that when he didn't put interest in helping me after giving me a quick office exam he said there was nothing wrong and sent me on my way. when I was dealing with serious issues after my hystercetomy. I left dissapointed, heart broken that my life did not matter to him.

Very dissapointed on this Dr. After reading his good reviews I decided to travel very far to go see him with so much hope. I made a big sacrifice to go see him as I had to miss time from work and the trip was very expensive with airlines and hotels. As I live in a different state. He just did a quick office exam and said that I was fine and send me back on my way. I was hoping he would do some type of test or put a camara inside to see what the problems was. But he did not. and then he send a letter to my physician saying that I was eager to have surgery when I never said that to him I was just hoping he would do some testing before diagnosing me. Shame on him for saying that and for not putting any interest in helping me he didn't see me as a human being desperate for help. Shame on him. I don't know how he can sleep at night.

Dr. Margolis was really wonderful to work with. He diagnosed my issue and quickly resolved it with surgery. He did a fantastic job. I am very pleased with the colo-rectal and perineum repair he did on me.
