Dr. Opalak did a superb job on my back. He performed a lumbar laminectomy and disk discectomy on my back. I had no problems walking after surgery. He explained everything and the process went without a hitch. I was walking with a cane the very next day and have not fallen since. My sciatic nerve pain and issues have all gone. I still have some numbness in my feel but physical therapy will help with that as I am told and it has been helping. If you want to have a successful back surgery and not have any problems; I would recommend that you go see Dr. Opalak. He will make sure that you are in the best shape that you can be in.

After being referred to Dr. Opalak by Griffin Hospital for a lumbar transverse fracture, he refused to prescribe a painkiller other than Tylenol. I would recommend you choose another doctor unless you're into pain.

Dr. Opalak has a warm and compassionate bedside manner and his expertise as a neurosurgeon, not only relieved my neck pain but also gave me complete range of joint motion. I have seen people with the same surgery I had and they're necks are as stiff as boards. Lastly, his receptionist, Anne Marie, has been with Dr. Opalak for 23 years, is very competent and has a wonderful personality!
