Dr. Russonella is the founding physician at the North Jersey Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Institute. After earning a medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Russonella received extensive training in joint replacement, trauma and sports medicine at Peninsula Hospital Center (Far Rockaway, NY). The facility is an affiliate of the North Shore/LIJ Health System, which provides orthopedic care to the New York Jets, New York Islanders, New York Dragons of the AFL, Merchant Marine Academy and many other New York metro area local high schools. Dr. Russonella completed a one-year fellowship program at the American Sports Medicine Institute (Birmingham, AL), an internationally acclaimed orthopedic care and research facility, which routinely treats world-class professional, college and high …school athletes. Dr. Russonella is an excellent doctor. He takes his time with his patients making sure of their understanding. The staff is friendly, courteous and always willing to help. The equipment is start of the art and the office is immaculate. I would definitely recommend Dr Russonella to anyone.

What a wonderful experience I had in his office. Micheal is awesome at what he does and did an awesome job explaining my injury to me and my healing process. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Russonella has seen my daughter for numerous sports-related injuries for the last 10 years. He is very thorough and incredibly knowledgeable. I wouldn't take her anywhere else. The staff and on-site PT are also great. There's something to be said about being able to trust the doctor that is seeing your child. I recommend him to anyone who asks.

Dr Russonella provided me relief if back pain that had plagued me for months. Also helped alleviate shoulder pain. Very competent and great communicator of diagnosis.

Dr. Mike is a gentle man who listens. He performed shoulder surgery on me years ago and I haven't been back since. That's a good thing ?? Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic Dr, I’ve been seeing Dr Russonella for many years through quite a few injuries to myself n family members. I will never go anywhere else. The best bed side manner and great to talk to.

As a Registered Dietitian for over 20 years I have worked with many Physicians and Surgeons and Dr Russonella is by far the most Pristine in the business. His patients experience very little down time and they are more than happy with their results. I'm looking forward to what the future holds for this State of the Art facility.

My ACL surgery was performed by Dr. Russonella and I also went through their PT program and all I have are kind words! The doctors and the physical therapists were kind and helped me get back to my usual self.

He seen me very quickly for my injury. His staff made all arrangements for my surgery. His staff kept in touch with me until my surgery. I'm on the road to recovery and I have no complaints of him or his staff.??
