Dr. Michael Algirdas Veliuona, MD

Recently hospitalized after Dr Veliuona performed a flexible sigmoidoscopy to find my ulcerative colitis was in a severe flare. He has been my doctor for almost 7 years. He has gone above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable and his staff is exceptional with their care as well. Being a healthcare provider myself I have no reservations in referring my own patients and family members to Dr Veliuona. You won’t find a better place to be treated for you GI issues!

I was hospitalized with severe abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stool. I've been seeing my reg dr for gallbladder issues for over a month waiting to get a hida scan, when Dr. V told me my gallbladder and intestinal issues were two totally separate things and refused to discuss anything further about my gallbladder. I was treated for colitis, he explained sometimes 'it just happens'. He even told my husband while I was out for my colonoscopy, "she seems very fixated on her gallbladder doesn't she". Come to find out my gallbladder is overactive, producing an output of bile at 96% when normal function is 30-80%...which means while I was on a clear liquid diet the bile could have wreaked havoc in my intestines causing the colitis, causing pain, causing all my symptoms. But yet he insists my gallbladder has NOTHING to do with my symptoms.

Friendly staff. Dr. V was very attentive and gave me the time needed to express my concerns. Thorough workup and excellent bedside manner. Still seeing him and referred my family to him.

Dr. Veliuona takes his time with patients, explains everything, and answers any and all questions. He is very knowledgable and has helped me with treating acid reflux and performing colonscopies, as there is a cancer risk in my family. I would highly recommend him as a doctor.

I can not think of any improvements that can add to what you should expect from any DR or office personnel. I have been going there for years. My Doctor is DR Veliuna. His knowledge and time spent addressing my problem are 2 of the big reasons I continue to go there. I highly recommend their office and Doctors.

I was a new patient to the practice. When I was taken back into the exam room, Dr.Veliuona was sitting in the room on the laptop. The nurse said we need this patient for your patient actually and the doctor walked right past me, didn't even introduce himself or anything. As I sat with the nurse explaining my conditions, she was rushing me through everything and said I had no need to fill out the paperwork. When the doctor came in, he acted very arrogant, still did not introduce himself. I told him my symptoms and he made me feel like I couldn't possibly feel like that. Personally I did not feel comfortable with him and with dealing with Crohn's disease, it is not very welcoming to feel like I'm not being treated correctly by an arrogant individual.
