Dr. West is an adequate doctor. Since most of diagnosis came from the work of pathologists analyzing slides and most of my care was pretty much standard I cannot speak to his expertise. I can say that during followup care his secretary Caroline said he told her that I should order my own followup scan. I called to get my own scan but I was told I could not do so. I then called my primary care doctor who assisted me in getting the scan ordered. It was particularly troublesome because the diagnosis was severe and Dr. West did not bother to call and let me know. Dr. West does not call back with results. I since have found a doctor with a much better bedside manner, who does not mind calling me on the phone with results and ordering scans for me. In addition, my new endocrinologist recognizes the anxiety caused by the diagnosis I have received and treats me with a level of respect that I did not receive from Dr. West and his staff.
