Dr. Miles Joseph Burke, MD

Im 43 years young and I never knew that I had exotropia (lazy eye) until the age of 41. I was aphrensive about surgery. I had excuses as if my eyes would somehow get better by some miracle. When I met Dr. Burke. His poised, confidence, experience, passion and, "The glass is full" type of persona. Left zero doubt in my mind that I was in good hands. Dr. Burke explained all the risk and I felt reassured that this was the a good decision to have this procedure done. To make a long story short. My son has several special needs, autism and deafness to include just a few. He is not your average patient and is certainly not easy. Dr. Burke has a way of reaching him and working with him that I've rarely seen in our experiences with doctors. He is just the kid whisperer! My son did such a great job in that appointment and was able to fully participate without fear, even when Dr. Burke did the eyedrops. This is unheard of in our previous experiences with other doctors. We love Dr. Burke and we also love the friendly staff that go above and beyond. It's all around one of the best medical experiences we've ever had. Can't recommend him enough!

We have known Dr. Burke for nearly 18 years. He was the fifth Ophthalmologist to see our oldest special needs daughter because the previous four were not certain they could correct her amblyopia in one surgery, or that the correction would even last. They had us doing patching and eye-muscle exercises for a very long time. Those things were were very difficult to maintain along with her other issues. When we met with Dr. Burke, he told us that none of those tasks would ever be effective and to allow him to surgically correct her eye problem. He operated on her and fixed everything safely in one surgery. 17 years later, her eye muscles are still holding, her vision is great, and she looks beautiful. Our younger special needs daughter is also a patient of Dr. Burke. We have worked with Dr. Burke and his staff as partners over these many years. He makes sure my husband and I understand the issues with our daughters and how he will treat them. Through regular office visits, he has… made sure that their eyes are functioning optimally. We have absolute confidence in him. We believe that there is no other eye doctor in the region that can accomplish the same results.

Had an absolute awesome experience with Dr. Burke. He explained everything and was very compassionate about taking care of our son. I wish he was a doctor of everything lol. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs to see a pediatrician eye doctor. I would give him 10 stars if they were available.

Dr. Burke is the best of the best. He is compassionate, thorough and personable. His practice is well run and staffed. Dr. Burke did eye muscle surgery on my husband to correct complicated double vision issues due to a severe stroke. Throughout the process; from initial exam to subsequent post operation follow-ups he managed to communicate with confidence and humor and created a patient relationship with a patient who had difficulty expressing himself and understanding. What a wonderful experience it has been taking my daughter to Dr. Burke! In the past, she was scared to go to the eye doctor, but after her first visit with Dr. Burke, she kept begging me to go back as soon as possible. She loved the waiting room filled with games, and Dr. Burke made her feel like the most special person in the world. He took a special interest in her as a person and spent a lot of time working with my daughter to make sure her new prescription was exactly right. I had never seen an eye doctor be so meticulous in his exam, and I have never seen my daughter so happy to have an eye appointment. When we came back again this year, my daughter was so excited to be able to go to her eye appointment again. I am particulary thrilled because Dr. Burke has been so persistent in getting the exact right prescription for my daughter that her vision can finally be corrected to 20-20! Dr. Burke recently gave me eye alignment surgery. For my entire life , one of my eyes has drifted outwards. Dr. Burke informed he could correct that with surgery . The surgery went great and my eyes are straight for the first time ever ! He has great thorough care every step of the process . I highly recommend Dr. Burke .

A number of years ago a friend of the family suggested Dr. Burke for our daughters’ eye care. Without a doubt, the best referral we were every given. I am 73 and I have seen my share of doctors over the years and I don’t mind saying he’s the Best. These are some of the positive attributes this Dr. has: • Great Bed Side Manners, my entire family loves him. • Puts you at ease within minutes of your first meeting with him. • Very knowledgeable, easily answers any questions technical or otherwise that you ask. • Always on time. (How rare is that?) • Has an office staff that isn’t full of themselves! • Must have a part time job at a nearby comedy club. Seriously, Dr. Burke is Great. Dr. Miles Burke is very professional and has excellent bedside manners. He has a super personality, great sense of humor, and makes children/adults feel at ease. Our daughter is a patient of Dr. Burke and just adores him. He makes every visit enjoyable! He’s the best!
