Dr. Mohamed A.s. Ali, MD

My wife and I came to Dr Ali after our longtime primary care Dr. Retired. Dr. Ali is Absolutely by far the worst Dr. My wife and I have ever had (or even heard of). He is VERY flippant, sarcastic and impersonal. He borders very closely to incompetent and malpractice. Not only did he never take time to address our medical concerns regarding our rather serious illnesses but he refused to even address the symptoms, medications and pain management. For every.problem that was reported to him came a referral to another Dr.. One of my other specialist even told me that Dr. Ali was short and disrespectful to him when he called to suggest an alternative medication and proactive diabetes management. Dr. Ali once took 4 days to return my constant phone calls and over 20 messages left with his staff begging for medical help. Finally I asked to speak with his supervisor and then I got a return call with no apology. I eventually went to the ER as my symptoms got worse and was immediately… admitted that resulted in a medication change that he could have made if he just took time to listen to my symptoms and spend more than the usual (5min./ See you in 3 month) compulsory partial. After a lifetime of really loving the level of professionalism that Wash U. and the BJC network have provided; I am so surprised that a BJC doctor is being allowed to practice, who is so blatantly nonchalant, uncaring and incompetent.

Always takes care to perform thorough assessment during my visits. Wants to be well-informed of patient's condition. Spends time discussing diagnosis, cause, and treatment plan with patient. Seems to enjoy patient education aspect of his job. Very conscientious regarding following up with patients whose conditions require closer oversight. Easy to get an appointment. Office staff are friendly and accommodating. Clean, new office building, easy to find. Would recommend to adults who need a good internal medicine physician.
