Dr. Mona Walimbe, MD

Dr. Walimbe, is an incredible doctor! After my, CABGx3, she found I had an IR problem and nailed it before it became Type 2. In less than 3 month I am down 25 pounds A1C is down LIPIDS/Glucose are in range. Moreover, Dr. Walimbe, listens and is kind. She cares.

Overall had a great experience, very competent & caring doctor

Never seemed prepared for our appointments. It was like she only looked at bloodwork results for the first time at the appointment. Also, had several appointments with her and had to wait no less than 30 - 45 minutes for ever one even when I had the first appointment of the day. Since she didn’t do anything other than read results and use a chart to adjust dosage, I decided there was no use in paying “specialist” fees.

Went to Dr. Walimbe one time after Dr. Chon retired. I just got off the phone with a credit agency saying I owed her a balance of $162.71. I was told the initial charge was $383.00! This is outrageous. They accepted my Medicare assignment and secondary insurance of Aetna. Supposedly Aetna was never notified. Nevertheless, to charge me almost $400.00 for a ten minute visit is disgraceful. I will never return.

Did not follow up with me on process for Thyroid scan or ultra sound, did not communicate latest bloodwork findings from another doctor (even thought the staff made copies of this before the appointment), didn't allow me to ask all questions or communicate issues. Didn't provided when the next blood work follow up when antibodies would be tested next for Hashimotos Thyroiditis. For am shaking and weakness, bloodwork was scheduled for 3 months out. Made a medicine adjustments and wants me to wait 3 moths for the next bloodtest instead of 5-6 weeks to see how things are going. This was very unacceptable. Not happy with how she made me feel. I felt she was uncaring, not wanting to reach out and confirm information, she never even asked how I was feeling.
