I deeply wish I could leave 0 stars. From the jump I knew going with this surgeon was a mistake. He's dismissive, rude and yells if you ask too many questions (which you have to do with any SURGICAL procedures) I am upset that I allowed myself to get manipulated by his staff that he was good at his "profession". My daughter had what he called a simple lipoma. The procedure would be less than an hour and recovery would be about 3 weeks. My daughters incision got infected about a week & a half later. He said it was normal and not to worry. She called him multiple times and all he advised was to see her primary physician. She did, he couldnt do anything but prescribe antibiotics which DR CHANDRA shouldve done. weeks later it continued to look terrible. My husband called..Nothing. I called & nothing. All in all; she went to urgent care TWICE and then to the wound center for treatment where she underwent a painful course of visits. I ran into a former patient of his there and they also had… negative feedback for Dr. Chandra. Its unbelievable that doctors can get away with this kind of neglect. I am beyond disappointed and you would be too if you choose this practice.

In my post op appointment he was kind of curt and rushed. He didn't ask me if I had any questions. He seems like he is shot out of a canon and doesn't really have time for you. On top of this the sutures he put in next to my belly button failed and now I have a hernia that I need to have a surgery to fix. God help you if you have any trouble with the billing. I paid my bill but was sent a second bill some time later and having forgot that I paid it the first time I sent a second payment in. When I realized this and asked to be paid back for my double payment I was sent to the billing department. After I showed proof of both checks being cashed the billing department said that Dr Chandra would have to write the check himself. Every ten days or so I would call billing to see when I might expect payment and every time she would confirm that Dr Chandra's office had the proof of overpayment and that they should be issuing a check soon. This went on for months. When I called the Dr Chandras… office directly she said I had to talk to billing, and she would only say that she couldn't help me with anything related to billing when I told her that her own billing department said that the Dr had to write the check. This is what we call the run around. After all of this time this was insane to me. She said that she would call billing and let me know what she found out. She never called me back. I called again a week later and she would only repeat what she told me before saying that the Dr has forbid her from asking him about anything to do with billing. I asked "So there is no way for me to get any information on when he might pay, or even if he will pay?" and she said she couldn't help me. If you want to feel disregarded go with this team. You can tell a lot about a person from the staff they have.

I've always thought that a doctor has resposobilities of looking after his patients but most importantly prioritizing for their safety and well being .Well this was NOT the case with this particular DOCTOR Chandra. This case happened some years back but it is till today that I came accross this page and I have an opportunity to write a review for this individual. My younger sister woke up one day with sever abdominal pain and we rushed her to our local hospital ER from which she was later transferred to Tarzana Hospital. She was diagnosed with appendicitis and was scheduled to get surgery with Dr Chandra. He spoke with my parents about the surgery procedure and introduced to them a laser based procedure which according to Dr Chandra was going to ease the process much better than a regular surgery usually practiced to remove the appendix. My parents agreed to perform the procedure introduced by the Dr. due to that the risks for complications according to the Dr. were minimum. So my… sister underwent the procedure which according to Dr Chandra was successful. She constantly complained about having some pain but according to the doctor it was perfectly normal due to the surgery which had just been performed. She was released from the hospital by Dr Chandra who confirmed she was perfectly fine and just had to go thru the healing process. We brought her home with as much care as possible to comfort her thru the process. She continued to complain of having pain on her abdominal area. The Dr was contacted and advised but we got the same answer that it was part of undergoing the healing process. My sister would not eat because the pain was very discomforting for her. Till a couple of days after being released from the hospital my mom was trying to feed her something and she neglected the food, stood up and stumbled to the living room trying to walk off the pain she was getting. But she suddenly collapsed unconscious on our living room floor and was rushed again to Tarzana Hospital ER. It turned out that she had a very severe infection and had a very significant amount of pus spread inside her body. Other doctors were then involved in helping my sister, including Dr Chandra since he had been the initial Dr who had treated her. My sister's situation was very sever which led to having her in intensive care for quite sometime. She was having fever of 103 to 105 not exactly sure but around that temperature. She had to be rested in some type of ice sheets to try to drop the temperature. The situation was much sever that my parents were instructed to sign the necessary documents in case of a fatality for example listing our religion and what was to be done with body. Which were very hard and traumatic situations my parents and the whole family went thru, and not to think the trauma my little sister's body went thru. Ooh and did I forget to mention my sister was only about 8 or 9 years old. Thanks to our Lord and baby Jesus my sister dramatically recovered after undergoing a second surgery to clean her inside and removed all the infection that had spread, and not to mention the very traumatic scar from her upper stomach to the lower abdomen that my sister was left with, which still bothers, intimidates and reminds her of a very hard time in our life's. I insist and believe that this situation could have been much less traumatizing for many of us if Dr Chandra had done something else than just assuming everything was fine when my sister continued to complain of having pain. I'm not saying Dr Chandra is a bad Dr but I really felt the need of sharing our experience and I truly hope that no one else goes thru anything even similar than what my poor sister had to go thru.

I went to Dr Chandra because he was recommended by my primary physician & Gastro DR. for severe abdominal pain & distress. I was shocked by his indifference, arrogance, argumentative, impatient, dismissive, horrible attitude. I was not required to write down my medical history. At the visit, he took very little notes. He finally confirmed my need of surgery, however, I walked away thinking this man acts like he hates patients. How can a trust a Dr. who treats people like they are worthless. As far as his surgical skills, I cannot speak to that. I am going to ask my primary physician for another referral.

Dr. Chandra has taken excellent care of my mother throughout her ordeal after complications from a routine hysterectomy. He is courteous, thorough, caring, and professional. We feel fortunate that our mom was treated by him!

He may not have the best bedside manner, but he certainly knows his profession and is very good at what he does. I am alive today because of his quick diagnosis and action. Can't say enough good about him.
