Dr. Munif Salek, MD

I feel that Dr Salek is not working in my best interest only his. It all started when i went to him for a respiratory issue. He ordered testing and then diagnosed me with Pulmonary Fibrosis which is a terminal disease that has no real treatment available. He did not explain the disease to me at all. Literally all he said was (You have Pulmonary Fibrosis). He never explained what it was to me and I had to look it up on google. He then proceeded to prescribe me ofev This is a medicine that cost $13.000 for a 1-month supply. He informed me that because of the cost of the meds my insurance will deny it and that they will submit another request for assistance to pay for it. It was never explained to me who he was requesting assistance from or even how it worked. After 1 month of taking the medication I was due for the refill which was from acredo a specialty drug company. I had called them as they require you to do so before they will send you the medication. I talked to acredo and they… informed me that this has a 3-thousand-dollar copay and that i would have to pay that before they would ship it out. Apparently, Dr Saleks office or possibly Acreedo got a 3rd party to pay for the 1st month copay only and never informed me about the cost or possible copay of this medication. This medication requires that a liver function test to be taken each month as it is known to have adverse effects on your liver. After the 1st month of taking this medication i did the test and called his office to find out the results. I was told that Dr Salek would tell me the results at my next appointment (which was not for another 3 weeks) and that if anything was bad, he will call me immediately when he reads the results. (this comment was a flat out lie) 3 weeks later i have a phone appt and he tells me that my test had shown elevated results from the medication and to stop taking it and wait another 30 days and then do another test to see if it goes back to normal. I did as he asked and took a second liver test. I had a phone appt on 3-4-2021 and he never called me. I had called his office 2 hours after my appt was supposed to be and was told he was running behind and that he would call me. He never called and I never got a call back from the office or any explanation why he flaked on my appt call and or to set up another appt. Every time I Talk to Dr Salek, I am rushed through the appts and all he does is read the same paper work over again like he is just reviewing who I am. I had 1 in person appt with him and when he came into the room and he did not even have any notes and there was no computer showing my charts. This visit lasted 5 minutes and every other contact is only about 5-7 mins. His lack of communication and complete disregard for my health is not only appalling but should be looked into. I feel he does not care about anything except seeing as many patients as possible per day. I now have $13,000 worth of a medication I cannot take and possibly liver damage from his negligence. I am going to find another doctor and get a second opinion because of all the lies and lack of communion with Dr Salek. I would advise you to look elsewhere for a doctor because it is evident Dr Salek has so many patients, he cannot effectively do his job.

The drop down menu wouldn't work for me, however the wait time is fairly long. However, for this doctor I don't mind. He took so much time with me and explained everything thoroughly. Dr. Salek is also caring as well as being ultra professional. I highly recommend him.

Best Doctor and great office staff. Dr. Salek is a very kind and knowledgeable physician, two qualities that are sadly lacking in many doctors. My wife and I both see him and we both adore him, and more importantly we trust his diagnosis implicitly.

I have been seeing Dr. Salek for over 4 years now and I can't say enough about how much I respect and care for him. He always takes the time to explain things, even goes over each and every aspect of blood work, and that is more than I can say for any other doctor I have seen before him. The office staff is professional and courteous, and they always find a way to make an appointment that is not weeks and weeks away. I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Salek as my doctor, I hear horror stories from other people about what they have to do through to just GET an appointment with their doctor, and how much they don't like that their doctor never talks to them like real people and never take the time to explain things. There is not one negative I can write about in all the times I have been to the office, only the most positive experiences.

He has always been there for me when I needed him.

You don't meet such a caring doctor everyday. No attitude. Simple as that.
