Dr. Schmunes , of Atlantic Eye Institute, is a physician of the highest caliber in his field. He is highly knowledgeable and extremely competent in diagnostics, surgery and preventative care. I have found him to be a thoughtful and gifted surgeon, exceptional in both evaluation and technical skills. He excels in differential diagnosis and medical knowledge. When surgical intervention is indicated, his knowledge of when and how to apply his surgical expertise is admirable. We have benefited greatly from his care and broad medical knowledge. Changes in patient diagnostic evaluation of planned procedure at last minute. Had three months to evaluate proper surgical procedure, but rallied fellow Doctors to confirm questionable outcome if planned procedure was to be conducted. Need to present case to State Board of Opthomology for confirmation that this Doctor is properly qualified to perform surgery.

Dr. Shumunes has exceeded my expectations in every aspect of his medical practice. His committment to professional excellence and genuine compassion for my well being clearly reflects his love of God and love of neighbor. The Atlantic Eye Institute operates very efficiently and does not sacrifice personal attention over expediency. They manage to do both very well. The medical community would be greatly improved if it could emulate the personal, professional, and business model of this well run practice.

Dr. Shmunes is the best doctor I've ever gone to. He and the rest of the doctors at Atlantic Eye Institute are a highly competent, caring and compassionate group of doctors and their staff is also courteous and well trained in patient service. I had a terrible eye infection resulting in a cornea transplant and Dr. Shmunes has managed my case and treated me with the very best of care.
