Dr. Nesli Ozden Basgoz, MD

I have been a patient of Doctor Basgoz for over 25 years. She is unequivocally one of the most loyal, compassionate and caring doctors that I have had the privilege meeting. Doctor Basgoz provides exceptional medical care and support. She has trained many physicians especially those who are beginning their medical training. Dr. Basgoz has been an integral part of my longevity.

If every doctor was as patient, thorough, sensitive and competent as Dr. Nesli Basgoz, the medical profession would be perfect. Words cannot describe enough how responsive, thoughtful and thorough she is and the extent to which she makes the patient’s health a priority. She has no agenda but healing her patients and she has the ability to think outside the box. I am beyond impressed and feel so lucky to have her treating me and helping to coordinate my care.

She acts superior and is condescending. She is one of those elitist doctors who thinks that she can talk down toy you, if you aren't a white collar professional. Hope she read this and shapes up

Dr. Basgoz was imperious, accusative and insensitive regarding an infection that she presumed to be sexually transmitted. When she discovered otherwise through lab results, there was no apology for the tone she had taken.

Dr. Basgoz was extremely through. While it wasn't easy to get an appointment, I only waited about 5 minutes before being seen. She spent well over an hour listening to my symptoms and examining me, which I think is a rarity to say the least nowadays.

Fifteen years ago Doctor Basgoz suggested a number of anti-viral treatments for me. My health was good and my CD4 counts were in a reasonably high range. Had I taken her advice, it's unlikely I'd have much of a liver today. Soon after my demurral, it is my opinion she lost interest in treating me. I have other issues with her manner and with the style with which Massachusetts General Hospital seemed to segregate HIV+ patients.
