Dr Smerlis and all of the staff were very professoional. Dr. Smerlis takes his time and explains the issues you have and the treatment. I highly recommend him.

I never felt much confidence from Dr. Smerlis since my first appointment with him. He didn't push for an MRI, which was the first mistake because he misdiagnosed my condition. I think in terms of masses it should not be optional before surgery is done. After my surgery, my finger was crooked and disfigured. There is no way to fix this problem (confirmed by 2nd and 3rd opinion doctors).

Condescending attitude. Seems smart but no bedside manner and rumor is he’s average surgeon. If that’s true, why so rude.

I met Dr. Smerlis within an hour of arriving in the ER after smashing my little finger into multiple pieces. 1st responders kept coming in to ask if they could see and left without a word. I had more or less resigned myself to losing the finger. He came in, introduced himself asked if he could look and said: "Well, it's not as bad as they said it was." He saved the finger but could not find enough of the pieces to make it good as new. After two surgeries I can still use it a bit and am very grateful with what he was able to achieve.

Had surgery on my hand. Dr. Smerlis allowed me to be very active in my decision making which made the surgerymuch easier. Was completely painfree after 24 hours and in physical therapy after on 5 days. Completely healed with no issues after and can't even find the surgical site when I show others. It is completely gone!

Husband was treated by Dr Smerlis for an infection. He also had prior hand surgery. Best Dr. ever! Excellent bedside manner, caring, kind and considerate. Also has great sense of humor. You can't go wrong choosing this doctor. Wish all drs. were like him!

It has been about four years since I've been to Dr Smerlis for a broken wrist. It has healed nicely and you can't even tell that it has been broken before. I would recommend Dr Smerlis he is very good.

He is a surgeon and wants to jump straight to that.

dr smerlis does NOT need to be sanctioned.i wrote that in the heat of anger, pain and frustration. once we sorted out the issue, dr smerlis went above and beyond to treat my hand surgery with the utmost care and skill. i could not believe how fast i healed after surgery and how the pain i have been dealing with for years is finally gone. i would reccomend dr smerlis to any family member or friend who needs "the Best" hand surgeon on the peninsula. dr smerlis is simply one of the most brilliant surgeons i have ever had the fortune to find,and i have had quite a few(7 or 8) surgeries for orthopaedic problems other than hand in the past. thank you DR> SMERLIS!!
