Dr. Nicolette Angelica Picerno, MD

After surgery, I was having serious issues with my throat and went to an ENT. I went to that physician for 3 years and my throat was scoped 4-5 times. I was told it was common post-Cervical Spine Fusion (ACSF) and to use nasal rinse and take Mucinex. That did Not work. I spent hundreds of dollars on Mucinex with little or no improvement. The appointments lasted a few minutes. My voice was very hoarse, I could not swallow properly, and “Junk” got caught in my throat constantly. I was clearing my throat all the time. I went to Dr. Nicolette Picerno for a second opinion. She scoped the throat and found my Vocal Cords were Paralyzed and there was damage to the throat as a result of the Spinal Fusion. She referred me to a vocal cord specialist (Dr. Opperman) who confirmed her finding and I am set up to try to repair the terrible job the spine physician did in 2020. Dr. Picerno is through, spends time, shows, and explains everything in detail. She is an Excellent… physician! I would recommend her highly.

I would have given a zero rating but that was not an option. Any surgeon who operates on a throat and gives the patient pain TABLETS is not worth the paper her degree is printed on. Not only was I prescribed tablets, but the tablets contained acetaminophen so I couldn't alternate pain meds, which would have provided additional pain relief. She claimed nobody stocked the liquid medicine needed. That was a complete lie. Both the pharmacy at the surgery center and the local one stocked the liquid option. The suffering, due to her lack of care and interest was totally avoidable. Find a different doctor- one who isn't too lazy to find out out where you can get the correct medicine for your aftercare.

After Kaiser butchered me Dr P was able to fix my sinuses. They did such a bad job it took two surgeries to clean up the mess. I would recommend her to everyone. It's been almost 10 years and I sleep great and can breathe.

I have a family of doctors and nurses, for a frame of reference. I had an appointment with Dr Picerno. She didn't attempt to take the time to listen to my symptoms, even though the office was completely empty of other patients. Wanted to treat me for things that are outside her field of expertise. Doesn't give explanations nor choices in finding out more about your health if your case is not simple. Terrible "bedside manner". Overall, appointment was disappointing, confusing, rushed, and insulting. Perhaps was bad day for her, but would not recommend her.

Dr.Picerno is a kind,caring doctor who will spend time and listen to you and will treat you with respect and concern.She was very gentle with her treatment in the office and I had a great outcome.I think her years of experience give you confidence in her diagnoses and treatmentand I highly recommend her.
