Dr. Erickson provided a clear and comprehensive explanation of our son's lab results and reassured us that his results were in fact normal.

Dr. Erickson is very patient and thorough. She answers our questions well with care.

Loved that she talked in a way my son could understand and that she talked to him and not just me. He left feeling good about the plan!

We had a very poor experience with this care provider. My son explained after the visit that he didn't feel we received answers to our questions and he felt very discouraged. The provider started our visit by making a lot of assumptions about why we were there, including assuming what my son's problems were and that we had little education on his condition. I tried to explain our concerns and needs for the visit. Her non-verbal skills illustrated she believed I was making incorrect statements about my son's condition and she made both my son and I uncomfortable, feeling unheard and disrespected. She shared that she felt we were given misinformation and a lack of care by the providers we saw at the same clinic in the past. The provider then began to "educate" us on the physiology behind the problem she felt my son had and proper treatment methods. After listening diligently, hoping she had some new revelation to the condition we'd been fighting for 8 years, I found that her education… had no new information. This was discouraging and made me feel patronized. After dealing with this condition for 8 years, our whole family has become highly educated on the matter and understand the cause and treatment well. We have done everything we have been told to do to treat the condition, with no sustainable success. She continued to state that my son had not received the proper care and mistakes had been made in treating his condition. I felt so hurt by this that I reiterated, I am his mother and was trying to share what we've done, what his symptoms are, and what we know about his body which were not in line with her assumptions and needed clarification so we could share our concerns. She realized she had offended me and apologized. However, instead of trying to make the situation better, she promptly attempted to end the session and stated that since we'd seen improvement in my son's condition (due to my recent attempts made to change the treatment plan the clinic had given us) he must be fine now and he doesn't need to be seen by the clinic unless his condition worsens. While this is true, his condition was getting better, we had come the clinic that day with a need, questions, searching for some answers. She had yet to ask of our need and allow us to have a voice for my son. As she stood to leave, I attempted to ask my questions, state our need. I was given very little to no answers nor encouragement. She shared some best practices for bathroom breaks with my son and then she ended the session.

Dr Erickson seems to have a blanket approach for everything and I’d condescending in her delivery. If you can work with a different provider from the practice, do.

Dr Erickson was wonderful to work with. She clearly explained to me all of my daughters lab results and how that impacted her care and treatment. She called me with results on multiple occasions and her office staff always responded within a day to any question I sent them on the patient portal. In addition, we had significant insurance issues with getting coverage for my daughters medication. It was suddenly going to cost us $500 per month. Dr Erickson quickly rewrote prescriptions to help obtain insurance coverage and her office staff spent hours on the phone helping us advocate for the medication to be covered. Between our 5 children we have had to see many pediatric specialists over the years. Dr Erickson is one of my favorites.

Dr. Erickson really amazed me with her straight forward approach to my daughter's care. She treated me with respect and didn't waste time in helping my daughter. My daughter has very complex medical needs so we are so grateful to come across a physician of this caliber.

Dr. and staff became irritated and argumentative when I called for test results. I was told by Dr. Erickson's care coordinator that she does not personally call patients regarding results. When I explained that I was not clear on next steps and diagnosis, I was told to reference the clinic's patient portal. It was not until I involved my primary care physician in the matter (2 weeks after the tests were done and after four attempts to reach the doctor on my own), that Dr. Erickson returned my call. At that point the clinic staff seemed more interested in defending their communication process than making sure I understood my results and next steps. I have never had a worse experience with a doctor.
