Summary
I was born in New York City. Despite being born into a musical family and having a love for the arts, I chose to become a doctor because I am fascinated by science and have a strong desire to be with and help people. My love for children led me to a pediatric residency, and through a keen interest in the immune system and treating patients with allergic disorders, I undertook an allergy and immunology fellowship. I moved to San Diego in 1991 to join Southern California Permanente Medical Group. I get great satisfaction through helping my patients overcome potentially debilitating medical conditions. Current technology allows most of our patients to have healthy childhoods, attend school without absences, and participate fully in sports. I also treat young adults with allergies or immunologic conditions, and this has given me an opportunity to broaden my skills and my impact. Particularly gratifying is the opportunity I have to watch my young patients grow as I continue to care for …them into adulthood.
