Dr. Norman Samuel Broudy, MD

He may be a good Dr but his staff is less than competent. They are attempting to bill me for services that occurred over a year ago. It’s not clear why no claims were submitted to my insurance and no invoices mailed to me. The gal who kept calling me didn’t even know how to pronounce my provider’s name or know what her practice is called. She also kept calling her a doctor. I’m done with these people. I tried numerous times to resolve this issue and my insurance company even offered to allow them to resubmit the claims as they must have made some kind of error in filing the claim. They said no it’s too late for a claim to be filed. I’m done with these people. Upon their first contact with me they were right off asking me to give them my cc number. I took it to be a scam as they didn’t even have the name correct as to who I was seeing and continued to refer them as a doctor. After hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue they were unable to provide exact dates of service and… what insurance company they submitted claims to. If this continues I will start submitting invoices to them for my time spent trying to resolve their error.

I was able to get an appointment very quickly, but that was probably the only positive. The receptionist was supposed to email me a patient portal link, and when I told her that I didn't receive it, she ONLY THEN emailed it and then emailed again two minutes later and said "I sent it, you should really check your spam folder." and was continuously rude and not helpful. I saw Ngozi Chiekwu for an intake. She joined our Telehealth call 12 minutes late and just looked at me and said "how can I help you?".......that is NOT the way you start out a psychiatric appointment. There were constant noises in the background, someone vacuuming and children crying. She showed no empathy to me throughout our appointment and I was very clearly just another number to her. I mentioned a medication I was interested in starting (a psychiatric medication) and she had never even heard of it. She answered what seemed like a personal call on her cellphone about 15 minutes in as well. I wanted to cry during our… appointment, I was so disappointed that this was the care I was receiving. I will not be returning to this practice.

Can't get through an appointment without being cut off, lectured or hearing him complain that he has several patients waiting. Treats women caregivers and professionals in a more condescending manner than men...based on treatment of me vs my husband and the way I've seen him interact with therapists and staff.

Dr. Brody is a great doctor when it comes to analyzing whether a medication is working for a child or not. He also will confer with child's therapist for additional information. He is not specifically there to counsel but to figure out medication and dosages. He has called us out on questionable decision we have made and his take on the situations have been wise. He also treats our child with respect and makes sure that our child understands that he is responsible to make wise choices with regards to his life and reactions. Dr. Brody is NOT a coddler, he is a straightforward communication. If you are looking for a softy, find someone else.
