Dr. Qahwash's specialties include: endovascular and open surgery for cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations of the brain and spine; carotid endarterectomy and stenting; intracrainal angioplasty and stenting; emergency treatment of ischemic stroke; and Cerebral bypass for moyamoya disease and other occlusive ateriopathies.

Dr.Omar Qahwash, is the best, hand's down. He saved my son's life. I love him. Professional, caring, personable, intelligent, skilled, forthright, respectful, conscientious, willing to listen and answer questions.

Dr Qahwash is so impressionable upon first meeting him. He fills a room as soon as he walks in. You want to hear everything he shares with you because each word is valuable. He doesn't treat you as though you're a patient who wouldn't understand technical information. He talks directly to you to learn how YOU FEEL regardless of what's recorded on the chart. He is thorough, but proceeds cautiously, step-by-step, realizing surgery cannot be undone, and is the more aggressive form of treatment. He is not so anxious to "grab the scalple" just because he is a neuro-surgeon and has the ability to make big money from a surgical procedure. He wants you to realize a nuch greater quality of life and is there to support you in that effort. I highly respect this man and his skills and ability. I would recommend him favorably to absolutely anyone!!!

I met Dr Qahwash in 2012 after i was admitted with vision loss and head and neck pain following a chiropractic manipulation gone wrong. The chiropractor tore my carotid arteries in 2 places and caused dissections. I was scared to death and Dr Qahwash was simply amazing with me. He was kind and compassionate and I trust him completely. He is the best doctor i have ever known.

After spending 12 hours waiting for this doctor to do a consult in the ER for my 18 y.o. son, we left the hospital with completely wrong information. This Dr. insisted the CT Scan and MRI done on my son did in fact NOT show a cyst on his brain and that while he wasn't 100% certain, he was pretty sure my son did not have a seizure and would be fine but followup with another doctor. Thankfully we did because my son DOES have a cyst on his brain - one that could cause sudden death if it were to rupture. In addition to that this doctor completely missed some other abnormalities on the MRI. So either he didn't actually take the time to look at the films, he looked at the wrong patient file or he was just in a hurry to get us out of there.

I saw Dr Qahwash in regard to my brain aneurysm and he made me feel very at ease. He took his time explain in great detail the procedure for my upcoming surgery. Wait time to see him was minimal. He made me less fearful of the outcome.....
