It's hard to believe she has been off on a medical leave for 3 years. She was easily the most competent , caring and compassionate physician I have ever known. Being a physician myself, I am hard to please. I saw her give her all for many years as a colleague, but then she delivered my two boys. Her tireless energy and obvious love for what she did shown through her entire career as a physician made her special to so many people. When I read some of the comments posted, I knew that any bad marks she received must been on the patient with unrealistic expectations. They obviously never "knew" her or the magnificent level of care she gave.
Dr.Cabaniss delivered my twins on 6-29-02. Twin #2(my daughter) was breech. Dr.Cabaniss delivered her breech with no problems. She had every precaution ready in the delivery OR for an emergency C-section if needed. She delivered my other daughter on 5-14-04. I had some complications with my blood pressure and birth weight of the baby was low. Dr.Cabaniss was ontop of the situation. She is the most caring physician I have ever had in my life. She was always concerned and had her staff call to check on me. She took wonderful care of me and my babies. I wish she was still practicing in Parkersburg, WV.
When I first met Dr. Cabaniss I thought I was in good hands. But, as my pregnancy progressed I found her bedside manners to be greatly lacking. I didn't like the way she took control of choices that were mine to make and the way she treated me as an individual. As a result I switched doctors half way through my pregnancy and never regretted it.
If it wasn't for her my son would not have been born! She was incredible!
Be careful. As long as your pregnancy is going OK, then things are fine. But if there is a problem, she will drop the ball every time.
Dr Cabaniss delivered our daughter we tried to set up the date to be 7-8-09 but our daughter didn't want to wait and was born at 11:55 on 7-7-09 when she came out she grabbed the Dr.'s gown and wouldn't let go. Cabaniss found this to be quite amusing. she always took the time and genuinely answer all of our questions.
I was an infertility patient for 12 years before I "found" Dr. Cabaniss. While I never gave birth to a child, I did give birth to hope. She was caring, understanding, patient, gentle, and explained everything to both my huband & I like no other doctor before. (I had 6 other OB/GYNs before her). She was a blessing! Her staff was the same. When she left WV to return to CA, it was very hard to find a comparable doctor. While I like my current GYN, there is no way she compares to Dr. C and the care she gave me.
She is the best doctor I have ever had. I wish all my doctors were as caring and great as her.
Dr. Cabaniss delivered my two boys. I am a diabetic who had lost one child. She is the best, and she cares about you as a human being, not just as a patient. If you want the best, Dr. Cabaniss is the best.
Dr. Cabaniss was a great Dr when she was in my hometown. She delivered my youngest son and she was always great with me!!
