Dr Salvato is so caring and understanding and has a lot of experience in helping Lyme patients. I live about 200 miles away and she works with me for phone conferences and orders my medications for 125.00 when I am unable to drive down there. I have only seen her once and had one phone conference but have much faith that she will help me through this terrible ordeal. I feel blessed to have been referred to her
Dr Salvato is awesome, compassionate, caring I love her. I wish the recepcionistas be friendly! !!
Dr. Salvato came recommended and I started by taking my daughter to her. When I became sick she listened to my list of symptoms and ran tests. It came back as Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia. I was in so much pain and the brain fog was horrible not to mention the other symptoms. Glad I didn't have to go from Dr to Dr.
Dr. Salvato is one of the only doctors is Houston who can diagnose Chronic Fatigue. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects, and I highly recommend her.
The definition of excellence and quality patient care! I am a nurse practitioner and a stickler for the best care possible. Dr. Salvato is the best ever...hands down!
She is a busy woman, has a big heart, but only has 24 hours in the day. The individual time needed to diagnosis and properly treat vector borne diseases while leading you in the right direction to find specialists who can address the health issues that occur from the infection is simply not there. Her patient load is enormous and treats the sickest people with the least amount of resources. I admire her dedication and greatly appreciate it. Her office needs to utilize other resources for explanation of symptoms, lab markers, process of diagnosis, and the reasoning used to determine treatment plan. She spends adequate time with patients but there are too many issues to cover for the time.
I have never been treated so poorly by any medical staff than Dr. Salvato's receptionists and nurses. Living with lyme disease is hard enough! But being treated like a tick, literally, by her cruel, unfair and disrespectful staff is not worth your time seeing this doctor, despite her good intentions.
Dr salvato refuses to prescribe pain medication for a extremely painful back condition I have. Since she was investigated by texas dps she has been getting rid of all her pain patients.
I've been seeing Dr Salvato for twenty years now. She is very attentive and caring. she listens to your problems with concern.
I trust Dr. Salvato and always look forward to my visits. I always take a written list of all my question so I am prepared before she comes into room. She answers all my questions.
Have not yet had my 1st follow-up; but, looking forward to seeing her again
Dr Salvato is very knowledgeable and compassionate about fibromyalgia, CPS, and pain control. They do a great job working with my symptoms. The downside is she is 45 minutes away from me and communication imaging requests through staff by phone is not a simple matter. Other than that, they're great!
Salverto saved my life, five other physicians failed to help me.Them there was the it all in my head n the pay referral.
Hands down the best Dr I've been too.
Dr. Salvato has been my primary doctor for 20 years. I love her and Carol her P.A. They are both very knowledgeable and Dr.Salvato saved my life with a diagnosis of Lyme's Disease. I had been going to Kelsey-Seybold and telling them I was feeling very bad and they said that I was getting older and nothing was showing up in the blood workups. I went to her one time and they called me back in to the office and said I had 5 bands of the Lyme's Disease and started me on the proper medication. Left untreated I don't know what would have happened. She actually cares how her patient feel.
I was referred to Dr. Salvato by a rheumatologist because there was nothing he could do for me, and quite frankly most Dr.s are scared out of their mind to test for lyme and treat chronic lyme. I have called Dr. Salvato's office countless times.... left at least 4-5 messages and never once have I received a call back. When they answer the phone and ask if its new or returning patient, as soon as I say new, they send me to a machine to leave my name and number.... and that's when they answer at all.... many times it just rings and rings or goes to a different answering machine. I understand that Dr. Salvato is highly sought after because she has the 'balls" or overies most Dr.s get paid to much NOT to have today, and because most Dr.s today are pansies, she is inundated with new and returning patients.... BUT her staff cant handle the work load and are obviously hated by every patient she already has, they need to be replaced by heavy duty work horses, and the current staff can go work for all the no-good Dr,s that con our insurance and break the wallet to no avail....
I would give 0 stars if possible. I went in for my appointment after calling the morning of to confirm with the front desk. She told me to come in at 11:45 today for my appointment. When I arrived they told me my appointment was not today but on the 15th. I let her know that I already called to confirm my appointment this morning because of the negative reviews I've heard about the scheduling and the office staff. I know that my appointment was today and the office confirmed. She was very rude to me and said you'll just have to come back on the 15th. I requested to speak to the office manager which never showed up. I took a full day off of work and drove over an hour and a half for this appointment that I scheduled 3 months ago. I even called the office manager the week before to see what new patient paperwork they may need. Go figure he, never called me back either. Needless to say the in the competence of this office staff is ridiculous. I will cancel my appointment that is supposedly on the 15th as well. I would hope Dr. Salvatore would take these reviews seriously and find better staff. I will be writing her a letter as well.
I have been calling and leaving messages to follow up on my blood work. No one has returned my call. I always leave my name and telephone # and birth date which they always ask. I have called 3 times still no response. Poor customer service
Dr Salvato is the best. However the flow in the office could be improved.
I'm so thankful to have found Dr. Salvato! She is truly a blessing to me! I have Chronic Lyme. I also have a long list of other ailments that fit your typical Lyme patients plus a brain disease that may or may not be secondary to Lyme. She gets that I'm not going to just sit down and stop living my life so she gets it when I complain about my treatment slowing me down. She tries to work around my life schedule as well as what NEEDS to be done treatment wise. She's busy and doesn't have time for silliness, so don't bring it. I'm busy too, so I get it. Sometimes Its a bit overwhelming and I leave with more questions than answers. But I can call them and leave my question/s with them and they will get back to me. Overall, it's a well oiled machine.....that's how I would describe her doctor's office.
I've been going to her for 20 years Dr. Salotto and her staff are wonderful
The Dr. is great. The staff needs much improvement. Some are rude.
Diagnosed w fibromyalgia 6 yrs ago.. told three differemt Dr how o feel..same. I told Dr P S same and she knew with just that..blood work confirmed ..3 months aand already feel big difference ..thank you
Dr. Salvato is a competent and thorough physician, and her RN, Carol, is excellent. However, with the exception of one or two staff members, the entire staff is horrible. They have no concern for patients who are in pain and scheduling is always a problem. They lack professionalism and all of them could use some disciplined training on service in the health care industry and how to communicate with people and patients.
Dr. Patricia Salvato is a great internist. She listens to you, talks to you, does not hurry her time with you and is a good diagnostician. I recommend her to anyone
could I please have a call from the office manager on Monday. my fiancé,camilla Jackson,a patient of dr salvato is having a very difficult time working with the experience infusion center. we really don't know where else to go for help. while on the other hand dounghee with cego has been nothing but a blessing to us during this very trying time
I only have had one visit so far. I was told to schedule a follow up appt. for 2 1/2 weeks to go over the lab work. As of now, I do not have a diagnosis, so hoping the lab results will tell me something. The office staff was not the friendliest or most professional. It took awhile to get an initial appt. However, I loved Dr. Salvato! She really seemed to listen and spent time with me, which I greatly appreciated. I really hope she can figure out what's wrong with me!
She is so good, on top of what she does, her case load is too much. Seems like she might want to watch out for us that have been with her for 14 years or so. Don't feel cared for or hopeful like I have in the past. What I have is progressive & scary. Staff is jaded & I hate calling in on the phone. No refills for anything so......even though for all these years I have never misused, am treated like a junket. WTG!
Words can not describe the relief I felt to FINALLY find a doctor who actually listens to you, BELIEVES that your pain is NOT "in your head" and you leave feeling like this person truly wants to try to HEAL you! I am in AWE with this woman and look forward to the journey ahead, in search of that metaphorical "light at the end of a VERY LONG tunnel"!
Dr. Salvato has been my doctor for over twenty years. She has a compassionate drive to make life better for her patients. She combines general medicine with holistic to get the best outcome. Never seen another like her before.
Dr. Salvato is wonderful! She has always been wonderful for almost 20 years. She diagnosed my C.F.I.D.S. and Fibromyalgia, when all others were clueless, and treats the pain and the cause of this and other conditions. Recent governmental problems have caused her practice and others to require drug tests. These are not painful, but are annoying. Obama care has gooped up her office's efficiency, and that of other doctor's offices I have been to. So far, if I address a problem with her or her Nurse Practioner, or the Practice Manager, I have received. Dr. Salvato sees a lot of patients, and many of us need her specialized help, so I am grateful that she sees us all. With all of the various new hassles abiut insurance and prescriptions, though, I wish her staff were more responsive. This past week I was not able to speak with a nurse. We played phone tag once, but, afterwards, I tried to get in touch multiple times regarding an insurance problem with a prescription. All in all, I believe that the office headaches (no pun) will get worked out, and she is the kindest, most qualified doctor to assist me.
I have been seeing Dr Salvato for a number of years, being treated for pain and having to be tested every 3 mos., both urine and blood testing. The bills pile up from Millennium Labs, excessive amounts of $$ that I am told not to be concerned with paying, to disregard the bills for urine tests. The blood tests are done by LabCorp that is in the same building as the doctor. They are not professional and very rude and rushed to get my blood and get me out after waiting sometimes for a long period while they chit chat behind the closed door. Salvato's staff is rude and non-caring most of the time. I always double check my scripts etc. as they can be careless with handling them and if not double checked it is next to impossible to get them corrected once I leave the office.
I have been seeing Dr. Salvato for 20 years to manage my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This doctor knows her stuff! She has many options to get you back on your feet and function. She keeps up with the latest research on CFS, FM, and MCS. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone living close enough to the Houston area to drive. This IS the doctor to see for successful management of your CFS, FM or ME.
The office staff is unprofessional and rude, it is hard to get anyone of the phone to schedule an appointment or fill a Rx, the Dr. refuses to speak to patients via the phone, Salvato spends very little of her time with the patient, you are required to come in once every three months--and pay high prices for an office visit to the practice that the Dr. owns, the Dr. and staff shows very little concern for the patient's well being.
Dr. Salvato has been my Dr. since 2005! I drive over 5 hours (1 way) every 3 months to my appointment with her- I would recommend her to anyone! She is one of THE BEST Medical Doctors I have ever met. I am not sure how many degrees or awards the woman has earned or how many books she has written- but she still sees everyday people- Patients feel at ease with her calm bedside manner. Dr. Salvato will spend as much time with you as you need to talk about your health issues and options. I am very Thankful for Dr. Patricia D. Salvato.
I am not quite sure that seeing 70 (at times) patients per day is enabling Dr. Salvato to practice in a way that benefits me at an optimal level. I have benefitted in the past from her expertise in her field & know that she COULD help me. It seemed that on my last visit all that was missing was a cattle prod. After artfully making a quick exit, there was an exchange between the current nurse & myself that was pleasant enough but seemed odd. I need an interested Dr. That cares enough about a patient to understand the limitations that a patient has, especially dealing w ith a Dr. The necessary communications cannot occur in the space of 4 minutes. This makes for sloppy diagnosis & a patient left with the lack of trust for Dr.s. She was the best of the lot but dealing with current protocol has made her another Dr. that just doesn't have time to practice to the level necessary in order to aid me in my healthcare & therapy. The problem is, thus the confusion, nobody else is current in treating my condition. I am truly desolate & unable to function anymore. That is all.
kind listens understands patients more important than anything to her.
Doc Salvato will search until she discovers the source of your symptoms. There is no other doc who cares as much as she does. She is amazing. She has treated my Thyroid disease for over 9 years.
Dr Salvato and Carol listen and run appropriate tests. They have compassion and understanding and work with me. She's the best doctor for Fibro that I've found in Houston. Her care has enabled me to have a life instead of just existing.
I have been going to Dr. Salvato since 1996. There was a point when all other doctor's had given up hope on me surviving, she didn't and hasn't. She still up on all the latest trends in treatments and has an exceptional bedside manner. If you schedule your appointments for first thing in the mornings you never wait over 5 or 10 minutes, needless to say the later in the day, the longer the wait as you cannot predict individual treatment time, she treats each person unique.
I like Dr. Salvato, and have been going to her for ten years--at times the office staff can be rude--but it seems as though the turn-over factor has something to do with thatBut the current woman who works in the in-suite LabCorp office leaves something to be desired....the first time she drew my blood she poked around so much that I was black and blue for two weeks afterwards.......the second time I suggested that she use a small butterfly needle on me--as my veins are scared up from the IVIG that I receive---she did not listen to me and bruised my arm up yet again--so bad that at another doctor's appointment later that week the doctor wanted to know who I was letting "practice on me".....so just beware if you have bad veins......also beware that she has a bad attitude if you mention anything about it to her--
I was undiagnosed for 3 years, saw dozens of docs including Mayo C. Finally, she figured it out (Lyme) and I am well now. I highly recommend her if you are undiagnosed.
Wonderful, caring doctor who is truly an expert in fibromyalgia. Her treatment plan has truly cahnged my life. However, her staff certainly leaves alot to be desired. They are very rude, indifferent to patients and the various office departments do not communicate at all! If her treatments didn't work as well as they do, I wouldn't tolerate it.
I have been seeing Dr. Salvato for about 10 years now and thank God every day for her care and dedication to those of us with illnesses that others in the medical community often dismiss or misdiagnose. From the beginning, she took the time to explain, encourage and help me manage a good quality of life as I lived and worked even though I had Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As I became disabled because of these conditions, she was there for me as I went through the disability process. When I arrive for my appointment, I only wait about 5-10 minutes to be taken into a room. My vitals are taken immediately and my medications list is checked. Then Carol, her NP, comes in and visits with me. She is very compassionate and extremely caring. Within 5 minutes of her leaving, Dr. Salvato comes in with Carol's notes and spends as much time with me as I need. I then go to check out and schedule my next appointment and am sent downstairs to the lab. Within a week, I call into a results service and Dr. Salvato HERSELF reads out my labs and further treatment plans. I am surprised that others have noted a problem with her staff. Remember, she treats OVER 3000 PATIENTS and is THE TOP IN HER FIELD. Get to your appointment ahead of time and bring a list of things to discuss and you'll do great! BE PATIENT when calling in for something. She has a massive staff and rightly so, given all the patients that she sees. Did you know that she has never turned away a new patient, coordinates well with your other doctors, is open to using new drugs and alternative treatments and is willing to deal with Social Security Disability paperwork and hassle? She is the only doctor I have seen in my 51 years of life that I care about personally, because I know that care is mutual.
Diagnosed myself confirmed via Salvato and labratory results. Now as physical symptoms progress so doesher regard for me as a mental patient. Talks to me as if I am imagining symptoms and prescribes me ineffectiveor dangerous second generation atypical drugs. Like most modern docs is more an agent of Drug Enforcement Agency and prone to spying on patients than practicing medicine. Practicing medicine is to be comfortable in unfamiliar territory and I would not want to have anything but heart or lung or her speciality fibromyalgia and her be my doctor because fundamentally she doesn't understand anything different. She's repetitive, same tests over and over and over and no progress and answers to questions are now patronizing. She really does not want patients that need a doctor who practices medicine.
As I work primarily overseas I visit with Dr. Salvato when I am stateside. I have been a patient of Dr. Salvato's for over a decade now and for good reason. Serving aboard a team of specialty practitioners, she has helped to see me through a pnuemo thorax, a pnuemo embolism, shoulder reconstruction, a lower lumbar fusion, and a myriad of other complications in part, due to these past medical situations. Being a dissabled veteran, I have experienced medical treatment on the federal level within the VA. My experience with the VA, encompassing Gross medical malpractice and an utter lack of empathy, had rendered me vehemently leary of civilian doctors. I received a personal referral from another veteran about Dr. Salvato, and with some badgerring from my wife I reluctantly agreed to visit with her. The differences that she has rendered to the quality of my life from my visits with her have been within an exponential betterment. Dr. Salvato is my preferred primary care physician and will remain so. She is a talented and empathet MD. If you are tired of being run around by your current doctor's half-truths about your condition, unsure answers, or general lack of efficient short and long-term treatment planning, I highly reccomend Dr. Salvato.
Dr. Salvato is a very well versed doctor in this medical condition. She has actually gave me my life back. I have been taking glutathiane injections for 2 years and I can;t tell you how good I feel. I wish that I had known about her years ago.Great bedside manner too!!!!
I would recommend Dr. Salvato to anyone with an unusual ailement. She has treated me for chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Very few symptoms remain and I am thankful to have found her even if I have over an hour drive to her office.
What a relief to find a doctor that understands my symptoms and takes them seriously! I have been trying for at least two years to find out why I am having such pain. Dr. Salvato and her team found that I have Lyme Disease and Fibromyalgia. Without her help I would still be barking up the wrong tree, not getting help, and wasting precious time and money. Thank you, Dr. Salvato!
I am a MD myself and have been seeing Dr. Salvato since 2004. She is an EXCELLENT Doctor. She was able to diagnose my Fibromyalgia and chronic Fatigue Syndrome when other Doctors couldn't. She has excellent bedside manner and is very kind and compassionate. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate her as a 10!!!!
Office staff are rude at timesNurse practioner is greatDon't always get a call back when calling about a problem on the same day.
This was my first visit to Dr. Salvato's office. At first, I was a little concerned about the protocol. It was the first time that I had been to a doctor's office where every one "looked" the same. Meaning - all of the patients appeared to be sick! If you don't believe in CFID or Fibro - then one look at the patients would confirm how much everyone suffers. The nurse practioner was excellent. And I found both the nurse practioner and Dr. Salvato to be extremely knowledgable and compassionate. If you think the service was bad - go to other places, like the Mayo or John Hopkins. And you will see - that not everyone understands stealth viruses or CFIDS, etc.. Dr. Salvato knows this disease and for once I had peace in talking with a physician. I didn't have to explain my condition because they already knew what it was doing to me and my life. And they don't think the symptoms or psychological.
I happened to go to this website looking for the zipcode and started to read the reviews. I am appalled at the garbage some of the people have written. I suspect that the people who have written these terrible reviews are whinning, crying, disrespectful, and overly demanding rude people. My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Salvato for six or seven years, maybe longer, and in all that time not one person in her office has ever been rude, dispectful or inconsiderate of my condition. I actually look forward to my visits to her office. Dr Salvato has spent considerable time with me and has treated any ailment promptly and correctly as well as improve my overall health considerably. I hold her up as a model for all doctors and have recommended her to my family and friends all of whom have reported to me that she is by far the BEST. I have found that people who have unrealistic expections as to what is possible will be disappointed no matter what. If you want to be treated with respect and kindness be sure you give the same. Do not be an angry demanding ungrateful wretch and you won't be treated that way. No matter how bad you feel put a smile on your face and you will find a world of difference in the way you are treated by those you are asking to help you. I am not ashamed or bashful to sign my name to this review. If you want to call me, fine.
I have been a patient for over 10 months and the extreme rudeness of staff when you call about your serious condition and they are not sympathetic or take you serious when you call. Patients that have these serious illness and diseases should not be treated like dirt. You would think that there would be a screening process of hiring and checking theses peoples attitudes. The staff need to have a heart and compassion when it comes to these very sickly patients. I have been to over 15 doctors in the last 10 years and I have never seen a staff act this way at all. If Dr. Salvato wasn't the doctor she was,I would of left a long time ago. I believe in Dr. Salvato but don't understand how the staff gets away with it or that they think their behavior is fine. Hope they get corrected and someone sit down with them and explain the seriousness of these illness and diseases.
I love Dr. Salvato, I've been seeing her about 12 years. If you have CFS, I don't know who else to go to in this area who would have the knowledge and expertise that she does. She has the hardest job as most of her patients are not going to get better. Very discouraging for most doctors, but Dr. Salvato is always patient. Bring in your list and she will answer everything. She doesn't need to listen much, she really can figure things out quickly. Very smart and caring. She has some really good staff, but getting them to return your call is difficult. Refills on prescriptions can be a test of patience.
I agree with the reviewer who wrote that Dr. Salvato appears knowledgeable; however, her expertise is questionable because the communication between doctor/patient; doctor/staff; staff/patient is so poor that it's difficult to know where you stand in terms of progress, or lack of. Unless one is willing to dig in and persist like a bulldog to get information of almost any kind, patient beware! I've only been seeing Dr. Salvato for a few months and I have to continue on - she's the only game in town - and I'll just have to hope and pray she is as exceptional as she is portrayed.
Dr. Salvato is a good Dr. I believe. She has far too many paitents and spends a total of 3 minutes with you. Her staff is an abomination of rudeness, with the only exception of ner nurse practiconer. If she were not the only fibromyalgia specialist in Houston, Texas I would never put up with the condecension, rudeness, and nonprofessionalism of her staff. They are the worst and act out on every occasion. I can't even begin to tell the stories of the ill treatment over the phone i've received in that office. If I wasn't sick and desperate for care, Id, let those people have it right back. I know many a paitent that has dropped Dr. Salvato, due to her staff. If Dr. Salvato is going to push her self that hard and not give people the time they need and push her staff into missery ( which they in turn act out of the paitents) then whats the point. But I will say this I think that Dr. Salvato is extremely knowledgeable, despite her lack of time to properly explain your diagnosis or treatment. This only mildly undermines her, because she a good diagnostician I believe, as having been a paitent for 2 and 1/2 years.
