Patient Reviews ? Write a Review
I have been going for several years to this quack. For the past several months every time my prescription runs out I have to call the office for a refill. Now their office has a woman who loves to hang up on patient who is trying to get a refill of a needed medicine. Her line was ( you are talking mean to me,. She starts a argument and then rudely HANGS UP. What kind of place are you running doc??? Your patients come first , NOT YOUR WANNA BE SECRETARY FEELING. DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT US????
Office staff neglected to tell me at each if my appointments that I had a balance on file. I called to have my prescriptions filled the recommended 48 hours before I was out, and was told they wouldn't be filled because of my balance. I argued with the staff about being forced to go "cold turkey" on my meds because of my balance, to which they replied that they didn't care. My husband had to call and argue with them to straighten everything out. What a nightmare to be denied your medication and forced to endure the effects of stopping a medication cold turkey. For office staff to make that kind of judgement call without Dr. Gross' approval is just disgusting and down right dangerous. This isn't the first time the staff has been abusive in how they've treated me. Dr. Gross is going to end up being sued for malpractice if his staff continues to treat sick patients this way. Shame on them!
Horrible man. Never responded or contacted me upon request. Met this man first time for a family meeting to discuss transferring my father to assisted living because they bilked insurance for all they could and wanted him out of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown. they also filed for Guardianship, refused to release him to my care though I had Durable POA. Do NOT let your loved one enter the "care" of this man! Years ago, my aunt dealt with this same man with similar situation with my grandmother. She had to schedule an appointment and PAY to get his time and have her questions answered. Staff was not friendly. When I went in to find my father so over medicated his body was convulsing I video-taped, asked what he was on and why and ended up being restricted from him for 5 days!!!! Hopefully you read this before your loved one enters the "care" of this man! If was like something from a horror movie....(Would not even give one start but had to click on rating to submit)
Called the manager hoping I can find a solution for the wrong scheduling, I regret calling her, she is terrible, wouldn't let me speak, terrible office and I would never see this creepy Doctor even if it's for another 2 minutes!!! When I saw my therapist n told her I saw the wrong psychiatrist she said " Don't tell me you saw Dr. Gross" I was right!! I knew it from the minute I saw him... Wrong wrong wrong.... Horrible Doctor, horrible manager and condescending staff"
I went to see him yesterday for the 1st time... I spent 20 min w/ the PA and I got to see this doctor for 2min!!!!!!! He prescribed me a medicine in 2min!!!!! I don't like the staff, they are rude. I was supposed to see somebody else and the office moved up my appt n scheduled me w/ this idiot, I didn't get to be notified until the day of the appt.
The office staff is beyond rude, including the answering service. Every single time I've called; whether it's to schedule, cancel, refill medication, or a true emergency that needed immediate help; they've been nasty. I called the morning after spending 10 hours in the ER for a bipolar manic episode. The answering service girl refused to page Dr.Gross, even though I thoroughly explained my situation. I ended up using a few choice words with her, and that of course she told to Dr. Gross. I like Dr. Gross, he's helped me tremendously. For the people that call him a "pill pusher", he is a PSYCHIATRIST, which means he treats mental issues with MEDICATION. Very different from a PSYCHOLOGIST that uses talk therapy. I will say that I honestly think its in very poor judgement for the office staff to treat psychiatric patients like dogs. Why would you argue with someone who's brain isn't functioning properly? And why would you want to make someone who is unstable angry? This is exactly the reason mentally ill people shoot their classmates or run into movie theaters with loaded weapons. Obviously the office staff has zero training in psychology and psychiatry. These people should be fired and Dr. Gross should hire people more equipped to deal with psychiatric patients.
This "doctor" took my mother's engagement ring. I had to sign a paper under duress, that my mother had sold it to him before they would give it back to her. Either way, this guy is a disgrace to his patients and to society.
Great guy very caring and helpful.
I wound never recommend this doctor to anyone. He should have his license revoked for all of the horror stories that have happened to his patients. He's an extreme pill pusher. He put me on three different medications without checking the interactions between them and I ended up in a coma for a week. After I was able to recover from the coma I began having seizures. Terrible bedside manner and a real jerk. He is a joke among other healthcare workers in his field. Do not go to this doctor.
Pill pusher extraordinaire. Dope them up and shut them up. But still get paid. That's his motto. I'm surprised he hasn't been reported or investigated. He's a menace to the elderly.
My mother had seen Dr Gross for many months and with each passing month, her conditioned worsened. He has no backbone with his decisions on medication. If you suggest something, he says sure lets try it instead of giving you a reason why it would not be the best choice for the patient. My mother was hospitalized for 2 months after his treatment to wean her off of all the meds that he had her on. She was a zombie under his care. I feel he preys upon individuals who have little hope left and that is how he earns him income. Please stay away from this practice.
Most professional and compassionate office I have ever dealt with. Thanks!
Courtney and Allyson truly are two angels on earth, their kindness and caring are beyond words.
Was a very pleasant experience.
I don't believe he is good. Go elsewhere.
Most professional and compassionate office I have ever dealt with.
It seems that Dr. Gross and his assistant are more than eager to provide drugs to dope up dementia patients--based on the experience of my mother in two different assisted living homes. Rather than trying behavior modification, the homes just call up Dr. Gross and after a conversation and brief evaluation the patient is put on a drug or drugs, sometimes without the consent of the responsible party. I have no respect for this doctor.
Having a mental illness can be a frightening, lonely experience, and you hope to find a psychiatrist that you can trust and feel comfortable with. Dr Gross is neither of these! You could find a better bedside manner from a block of ice, and Lord help you if he decides you're a candidate for his ECT (electro-convulsive therapy) sessions! I fell victim to this process, and had 7 sessions. Dr Gross promised me it would help my depression where medication could not, and that the side effects were temporary. It made my depression worse, and to this day, I have memory loss. But for each session, Dr Gross' pockets were lined with approximately $1,100 each. He cares about his own wallet, not his patients. If you want a healthy recovery with a doctor who cares, AVOID THIS MAN!!!
Don't waste your time. My father's been with him for years and begging my Dad to change Doctors he wouldn't because he was use to dr. Gross. The problems my fathers experienced with him are to many and too much to explained. The guys a pill pusher. His staff is rude, uncaring sour pusses who make you feel like your a bother. Never called back, make you wait an hour in waiting room and when you miss an appointment charge you for it. When asked why they didn't call their patients as reminders of appts like MOST doctors do, their reply was were to busy to do that. Then hire more personable ppl to do just that. There are many ppl looking for jobs today. Again, dont even consider this doctor or office, SERIOUSLY !!!!
Dr. Gross is an exceptional Psychiatrist. he has excelent insight into ones mental status and how to treat it. He manages my medication well. I am Bi-polar and I have a lot to thank him for. He has been a great Dr. for me.
My son was treated by this Dr. and given medication that made him agitated and sleep walk. When I called and asked for advice, Julie, from the office told me there was nothing they gave him that would make him that way. She actually advised me to call Crisis. Wrong! Julie should go back to school. When I consulted the family Dr. he told us to stop the ambien prescribed by Dr. Gross because some people react to it. The ambien was stopped and now my son is fine.
Saw Dr. Gross for over a decade and I feel as if that time was a complete waste. Was incorrectly diagnosed. During a panic attack, I called his office and they said they'd page him. He called me back FORTY FIVE minutes later. That's a long time to wait when you're in physical and mental anguish. So glad I got out of there - just wish I would've left sooner.
It took me a while to find a place to write a review and I am glad I found it and I am hoping that before someone decides to give this office a chance they read this. The office personnel are totally unprofessional. Non-caring is kindly putting their attitude. I had moved into the area and was looking for someone in the Allentown area. Was not referred but thought I would give this office a chance. When I called I was put on hold for 20 minutes. No exaggeration. I was asked a million questions which I was prepared for. I requested an appt. ASAP as I felt I was in need of an evaluation of my meds. I also expressed I would be available if a cancellation arose. I was told they would contact me for the appt. I heard nothing for 1 week. I proceeded to call back to find out there was no record of my earlier call. I now was feeling anxious. I expressed my urgency to hear the woman on the other end tell me they get emergencies all day. I literally begged to be seen and she once agains said they would get back to me once they found my file. As of today, I have not heard. Thank goodness I was able to see a family doctor who evaluated me thoroughly and gave me a prescription. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere where they care about their patients. Have heard horror stories from a couple of other people as well.
Called for an appt after having not been seen for 2 years and by their recommendation that I could get my prescription filled by my family doctor. But, I was experiencing insomnia and my family doctor suggested I see the psychiatrist again to see if there was an alternative to what I was taking. Called on a Tuesday morning. Was told that since I was not seen for over 2 yrs. that I was considered a new patient. I understood. I explained I was having difficulty sleeping for about 2 weeks and it was affecting my work, etc. The office worker updated my file over the phone verifying information currently on file. I requested to see McFarland who was below Dr. Gross as she was more approachable. The office worker told me she thought McFarland may have an opening the next day. She would call me as soon as McFarland got off the phone. Well, 2 days went by and I called the office and was told they could not locate my dark file. They would call me back as soon as they locate it and schedule and appt. It is now 2 weeks later and no call. Let me just say, thank goodness my issue was nothing extremely critical or life threatening. I would have either lost it or who knows what else. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS OFFICE. LOOK ON LINE FOR FURTHER NEGATIVE EVALUATIONS.
I never made an appt. I was severely depressed and was told it would be weeks before I could be seen by Dr. Gross. He was recommended to me. But what good is a doctor when you are dealing with major depression, if you have to wait weeks and weeks for an appt? I went elsewhere. You don't put people on hold when they need an appt in the more immediate future. By the way, the lady I found is terrific!!
