Dr. Paul Tamer Homsy, MD

Writing my first google review because the secretary is this BAD.. I had to switch psychiatrists because the one I’ve had took a hiatus. I chose Dr. Homsy because he was the closest and recommended. I have nothing wrong with Dr. Homsy, but only his secretary who has been extremely unprofessional to say the least. Every time I try to renew a prescription (that I’ve been taking for 5 years) the pharmacy can’t ever get the receptionist to answer the phone. After that I begin to try calling. It takes several days for me to get a response. I finally do get a retuned call at 4:50 when they close at 5 several days later. Once I finally am able to get the receptionist on the phone she is more worried about arguing with me to try and defend herself for not doing her job. I had also sent an email to get a hold of her and she insisted on arguing about how she responded to the email (she didn’t) rather than just focus on getting my prescription refilled. I feel bad for Dr. Homsy because I don’t… think he catching wind of how poorly of a job his receptionist is doing. She refused to let me speak to him directly or give me any of his contact information. If you just want to receive your medication refills with little hassle then do not choose this practice because of the poor and unprofessional job being done by their receptionist.

I had been looking for a good Doctor that could help me with being bipolar and I finally found him. Many years taking different medicines and not feeling hope. He took more than an hour with me the first time, and listened carefully to everything I said. His assistant was very sweet and helpful. I definitely recommend Dr Homsy. I know it’s hard to get to see him.

Dr. Homsy is a great, dedicated, patient doctor, who really takes care of his patients. All the bad reviews posted come from an office worker that worked in his clinic and was fired! She posts as a woman or a man, so don’t believe anything she writes, it’s not true.

His wife needs to go away she is on disability and is ruining his practice!

I’m a man and Dr. Homsy belittled me, tried pushing strange drugs on me that are all over his office with sample packs. Kept typing on his computer ignoring me and I have had it. His wife last year was a nightmare. Run far away I served overseas and this Doctor is unfit.

Run far away from this crazy man. His wife works for him but is on disability. What???? Wait till the IRS has a talk with him and Marta

I would not recommend this practice. Does not accept insurance despite what this site says, very hard to reach someone by phone because they hardly ever answer, and it takes 2 days to get a call back. I always had to wait a very long time for my appointments. The only plus was that he was flexible with my schedule, and it was close to my job. Initially he seemed like he had a great demeanor but doesn’t listen half the time, just entering notes in his computer. I’m not even sure what he’s entering, because several times he didn’t even know what meds I was on or tried in the past and I had to remind him. He knows absolutely nothing about how to safely discontinue or taper off of psychotropic drugs. Has no knowledge of SSRI discontinuation syndrome or protracted withdrawal. Would not recommend.

To remain remote from patients, Dr. Homsey uses an enormous desk, computers, peripherals, clutter and monitors. Patients who know their needs do well. The office staff are so warm and empathic you want to invite them to dinner! Dr. Homsy excels when using his academic degrees. Will interview in Spanish. Excellent understanding of medical and computer systems. Does not counsel.

He is a very compasionate doctor, let me felt i was able to trust him since the beginning. No intimidation like with other doctors. Still going with him after 8 years.
