Dr. Philip Meinhardt, MD

I went to Dr. Meinhardt for my spine. It is messed up from the top to the bottom from scoliosis, a car accident (I had surgery and whiplash pretty bad). I am in pain all day everyday and I am young. I went to get my thoracic spine checked as I had a lot of pain there. I was asked by the practice to get my records for all my back imaging and surgery (which was on the lumbar spine). I asked the doctor if he looked at my records and he point blank said no. Why did I rush around to get them then???This entire appt with him was about five minutes give or take. I went to ask him a question about my C5, the vertebra above my T-1 and he said he would not answer it and I needed to make another appt with him to discuss the cervical spine! I told him, you really are not going to answer my question about my spine? You are a spine doctor? He point blank said no and was very rude. That is ridiculous. I came because I have pain up and down the entire spine but the middle part was the worst. You… should be able to ask your SPINE doctor about ANY PART of your spine. I couldn't even ask a question, he had NO CLUE WHAT MY QUESTION WAS. How MONEY HUNGRY to make people make three separate appts with you to discuss the entire spine after only spending five minutes in my room. He is very arrogant. I think he forgets how many doctors appts people have, their work life, THE PAIN they are in and that it is a CHALLENGE for some to get to his office such as older people. He already has a bad reputation I am finding out from others I know in the ortho world after telling them my story yesterday which they were in disbelief about. This practice is amazing and everyone that works there are great. Be better doctor, drop your arrogant act and be compassionate. I'm glad I stood up for myself yesterday, you're ridiculous.

I saw Dr Meinhardt in Sarasota. He is great, very good explanations. I decided spinal fusion. This is day 1 after surgery and I walked yesterday and have minimal pain.

Great doctor! He listened to all my concerns, and I felt like we made a plan together. I recommend him highly. He made me feel confident of his expertise and I felt as I could trust him to help me.

I saw him recently for back pain and he was very courteous and professional. He took the time to review all my test results with me, answer any questions I had, and discuss all my options with me. I liked that he wasn't trying to pressure me into an operation I didn't need and recommended conservative treatment first. I am glad I saw him for an honest opinion because my issues are now fully resolved and I am pain free!

Outstanding from start to finish. Dr Meinhardt is what I consider to be a no-nonsense surgeon. Professional every step of the way, excellent work. I was never uncomfortable before, during, or after surgery. Recovery was the same. Every step of the way, everything was a good experience. Not one issue. Unbelievably good experience. I can’t say enough about the doctor. He fixed my life.

Disregards radiologist readings; rude; is rather have my dog perform surgery on my back.

He's rude. Can careless about your pain if your on workers comp. I went there for a slip and fall that I had at work and explained my pain to him, he told me he didn't understand my pain because he only saw a few bon spurs caused by me aging. I went on to tell him that I was in pain and he said because of the type of pain that I was having he could send me for a MRI but it's going to take all day and the machine is really loud he went on to ask me if I was sure that I wanted to do it. This doctor only care about saving workers comp money and not about taking care of his workers comp patients.

He may be a good surgeon, but you will never know because he will not see patients that have been treated by another surgeon or has an insurance plan he doesn't like and he is very rude about it.

Dr. Meinhardt refused to even examine my senior parent for back pain, and just sent us to emergency room. Every doctor we have seen since that visit has been astonished we were treated in this manner. My family is a long time patient of Jewett and this is the worst treatment we have ever received. I DO NOT recommend Dr. Meinhardt.

I went in to Jewett orthopedic walk in clinic. While the clinic will not treat patients with spine problems they directed me to speak to the receptionist to see if they could fit me in to see someone, I was in a great deal of pain and couldn't use my left arm or feel my left thumb. DR. Meinhardt stayed past his shift to review my case. A week later I was in for surgery. He is a great surgeon, I am pleased to say that immediately after the surgery I had no pain in my left arm. I was sore and stiff after surgery. The staff at Physicians Surgery Center, where the procedure was done, were attentive and quick to respond to my pain. From the moment I checked in through discharge was a great experience. I should have had the surgery done sooner. I am two days post surgery and I have no complaints. Thank you Dr Meinhardt and staff.
