Philip J. Raised in the Bay Area by a father who was also a cardiologist, Dr. Patel developed an early and lasting interest in medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from the Boston University Graduate School. He then received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he completed seven and a half years of post-graduate training.
…After finishing his training, Dr. Patel moved to the Coachella Valley and joined Eisenhower Desert Cardiology Center. He is the only cardiologist in the Coachella Valley who is both board certified and Level III trained in Echocardiography, reflecting advanced specialized expertise that includes an additional dedicated year of training.
Throughout his career at Eisenhower, Dr. Patel has held multiple leadership positions. He served as Chairman of Eisenhower’s Quality Assurance Committee for Internal Medicine from 2007 to 2013 and as Section Chief for the Division of Cardiology at Eisenhower Medical Center for two consecutive terms from 2010 to 2013. He currently serves as President of Desert Cardiology at Eisenhower Medical Center and as Medical Director of EDCC Echocardiography and Vascular Laboratories, EDCC Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory, and Eisenhower Medical Center Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Services.
