Met our child once, immediately recommended inpatient , and before meds even had time to work in a short 3 week period, called parents into office , $200 later and 5 minutes into the appt he required us to send our child to a full intensive residential program and stated he would not be able to refills meds or continue the relationship UNLESS we agreed to do this. Our child was left hanging with an abrupt gap in Med refills (and the medicine appeared to be working!) until we found a new suitable psychiatrist (not an easy task in Austin). Have never experienced such a lack of ethics and professionalism in the mental health field - the very place that these attributes are so critical for a child to heal and flourish !! It sounds like Dr. Javed has similar complaints.

Terminates care without prior notice if you do not set up a standing monthly appointment with him. Does not take insurance and sessions are expensive. Currently in a panic to find another doctor in order for medication to continue which cannot be abruptly stopped without mental suffering.

Dr Javed is professional, courteous and truly cares. He seems to understand the child and the person as a whole rather than pushing medications. We have been very pleased, lucky and blessed to have him take care of our child.
