There are a lot of things really wrong when I'm afraid to call the doctor's office for needed information. It's because the office people are rude, short-tempered, and spiteful. But they'll still keep their jobs long after they refuse to do those jobs. Dr. Huang is a very knowledgeable doctor. However, once you leave her office, anything you need, from notification of test results to obtaining results from specialists, finding a specialist that accepts your insurance and is good, making necessary follow-up appointments, etc. you will have to do on your own. They may find a specialist for you, but making sure the specialist accepts your insurance or if you need to get pre-authorization from your insurance company, and checking reviews on the specialist, those will be your responsibilities. You will be told to come in at 1:30 pm and by 3:30 pm you still won't see the doctor. Instead of checking information the front staff will tell you to, "Just sit down," or claim you don't have an appointment. It's worst than pulling teeth with them. If you get them angry at you, they will remember you. Calling will result in being put on hold for 15 - 45 minutes. And if you have an emergency, they may still turn you away. I have kept coming back because the doctor was good. Now 'was' is the operative term. They have a good act on now that they've moved to a new location and need patients. Once they have a full roster, expect them to go back to their old behavior. I have heard them become frustrated and scream at patients. You must be proactive about your health, but the front staff will find you annoying for doing so.

Be prepared to be put on hold on the phone for 15 - 30 minutes. Insurance has gotten more complicated so the front staff has their hands full. Whether you are on hold because they are busy or because they don't care is a coin toss. Be prepared for their tempers to flare up and they may even yell at you. I heard one of the ladies yell at someone on the phone because the patient could not understand her. The doctor is very good though. She is thorough and knowledgeable, and will take the time to explain things to you. However, if they are really busy, even if you have an emergency, the front desk may not let you in to see her.
