Great service and GREAT skin care products
I just don't know how to explain my experience except to say he is very impersonal and I didn't get what my medical IPA said I should have time-wise (45 minutes).... very rushed service. His office seemed in disarray. No compassion or detailed explanation about the seriousness of the procedure he performed on me. I would suggest anyone reading this to do as much research as possible.
Dr. Nguyen is a straight forward doctor who dials in on the needed concern of your skin and does not try to sell you cosmetics. He is excellent unless you need someone to tell you you are beautiful and focus on cosmetic improvements instead of skin health!
Horrible, rude, inconsiderate, & greedy doctor & staff. Do not waste your time & money. I would give it 0 stars if I could, but it made me give them 1. They do not care about patients here...only your cash.
Unfortunately, doctors are looking at us like generic beings. He seems very nice - spent very little time - no real concern or diagnosis discussion. Gave me a prescription (one that I already had received) - said it might take 2 weeks to see if it works (very large area of skin rash) and I was out the door.
My family and I have been going to Dr. Nguyen many years for acne and various skin ailments. We are very happy with his office. He was highly recommended by my family doctor as well. The staff are wonderful and he is busy because he is well- liked by many patients. When I was there I heard many compliments from the patients. While I can agree that his visits are short, but he is a very good doctor and I think many complaints here are not justified.
I drove a distance to see him. The impression I got was -- very impersonal and uncaring. It seemed like he didn't want to be bothered with my condition. There was no follow up.
I have been his patient in Laguna Niguel for many years. The staff asked me to write a review because I am very happy with his care. He is very honest and competent with his specialty. He treats me with courtesy and respect and many of my retired friends also recommended him.
My senior mother just saw this doctor who I guess does not want to give any time to a senior. He did not introduce himself, explain the surgical procedure he has to do, spend any time on her skin problem which is a chronic and debiliting condition. He was uncaring, unprofessional and a thorough disappointment to my mother.
My friend recommends this place for acne treatment because they accept our PPO insurance. The doctor was nice and gave me coupon for my prescription (zero copayment wow). I disagree with the previous reviewer since he didn't push his products upon me, although he did mentioned it. His esthetician is great and the combination of acne treatment and his medication have really improved my skin. I will not waste my money and go elswhere.
Went in to see this uncaring dermatologist today. This is my second examination with him in five years and both times, he is rude, uncourteous, uncaring, and has the worst chairside manner. At the end of the appointment, he pushes his line of product and his facial treatment. This type of greed and apathy gives other healthcare professionals a bad rep. I would never return.
My family and I have been seeing Dr. Quan for a year. He is very knowledgable and conscientious. He does not try to sell things unless they really work. I have been to a few beauty clinics and wasted so much money on people who are not dermatologists. This doctor treated my acne and keloid scars and made my skin so much better. His estheticians are very nice also.
Dr. Quan is great. I have been to many dermatologists over the years so I know what it is like. He is concise but professional and skillful. He removed a skin cancer from my face and did not leave any scar. He also gave me the best treatment for my psoriasis. My skin has never been this clear.
Just thinking about this makes me so angry to have been cheated out of $120 dollars. He came in to "look" at my skin for literally five minutes and then recommended a whole bunch of products sold at his office to me. When I tried to get a prescription for my acne, he yelled at me and said it would not help. Instead, I should buy his products. I'm pretty sure he was mad because if he had given me a prescription, he wouldn't have made any money. People like "Dr. Quan Nguyen" went into the medical field not because of their passion to help others, but the passion that stems from greed. In addition to being charged $70 for the consultation fee, I was sold an expired acne gel. When I went back to the office to tell them about it, the receptionist gave me a another gel that was basically the same but it was a prescription. So the expired one was the same as the prescription one but it had this Doctor's name on it for a hundred bucks. So basically I was scammed out of my money. It's times like this that I feel particularly proud to be Vietnamese. An Asian scamming another Asian out of her money, way to go! It boggles the mind as to how his business is still running.
Doctor Ngyen has been my dermatologist for many years. He removed a few skin cancers from my face and did a good job. He does not try to overbill my insurance like other doctors. He is caring and he always calls me back for results. I am very happy with him. His staff is very helpful in checking my referral.
I was hesitant to see this doc after reading some neg reviews here but decided to see him anyway for my bad acne. I have been ripped off before by another Bolsa fake doctor K., spent $2k for her laser procedure that left my skin scarred and discolored.I checked out his credentials, UCLA grad, board certified in dermatology... First impression, he is a serious and no nonsense doc. I told him that I was a premed at UCLA and he gave me a discount on the visit $50 instead $70, cool. The doctor gave me a prescription of Bezaclin and oral Doxycline but also recommended me to try his skin medication if the prescription was too expensive. I went to Walgreen and they wanted $145, called his office back and found that his Qderm cream has the exact same ingredients for only $60. No brainer here for a student on a budget, I bought his recommended cream. After several visits and even had acne facial treatment in his office, my skin started to clear up. Now some people here might expect the doc to cure their acne in one visit and without trying his medication, not so. I've been struggling with my acne for years, spent money on all kinds of cream, and now I am just looking for someone I can trust to take care of my skin. Dr Quan might not be the sweetest guy, but once you get to know him he's pretty cool, but more important he helped me with my acne. I just thought you might want to hear another opinion :-)
I've been seeing Dr Ngyen for several years for Botox and other skin problems. He is very good at what he does. I am very happy with the result and have recommended friends to see him. His price is very reasonable compared to other cosmetic doctors.
I came to see Dr. Nguyen because of recommendations from my friends. It took a while to see him because he has more than one office. He recognized my condition right away, something that other doctors have misdiagnosed. He is very honest about treatment and tell you not to do thing like laser that would waste your money. His products help my skin condition to improve but took some time. I don't know why these negative remarks but I think he is a good doctor and would recommend people to see him.
Dr Quan Nguyen was very rude and short with me on the day I had treatment, patient was in pain he needed to understand that rather than just rush thru. He didn't spend time to find out why I need this treatment. He broadcasted on Vietnamese Radio once a while and I was suprised that he actually know can talk because my impression was he doesn't. My sister had a same experience too. I think he needs to take more business comunication rather than waisting his time to get more customers come to the door; what the point for doing this if you can't keep them.
Money greedy doctor. All he cares about is selling his products. Lies about other product lines. Don't waste your money with him.
It seems that this office is always busy. After booking an appointment, I expected a thorough examination since Dr. Quan is popular and didn't even receive one. I waited for a half hour to see Dr. Quan Nguyen and was out of the office in ten minutes! He even expected me to buy his "special" treatments. Money hungry derm! I would NOT recommend this dermatologist.
I'm soon to attend medical school. A visit to Dr. Nguyen's office has made me realize what not-to-be as a Doctor. First off, I went through a very troublesome process to make an appointment. Whoever answered my phone was extremely rude. Secondly, when I got there, they required me to pay before even seeing the doctor. I had to wait more than an hour in addition to a month from the day I called them. Lastly, Dr. Nguyen treated me and my mom as if we were idiots. He was indifferent to my concerns. To any other people out there that are considering this arrogant doctor, you would be better off with another (any any other ) dermatologist.
