This guy is terrible, a cold, arrogant, insulting excuse for a physician. I should have researched his reviews before wasting my time seeing him. Check before you go. Many others share my low opinion of the jerk. I wouldn't let him treat my dog. Really.
We are an interventional and comprehensive pain center. The patient was given a comprehensive and detailed plan. The patient was looking for one thing only, and we don't subscribe to that nonsense. Read CDC/FDA regulations regarding medication management. Good luck.
I work for Griffin hospital. I had a shot in my back for sciatica after being injured at work. I am doing great, and work again. Dr. A is a good guy and honest. I recommend him. thanks.
Arrogant, cold, I could have googled my questions and learned more.
Dr. Anand is extremely detail oriented and educated. If you take time to listen and pursue his outlined plan you would have recovered. Just ask thousands of his improved patients.
I was seeing another Dr in a very large orthopaedic group for several years and still in pain.Dr Anand did more for me in a few months than the previous group did in years.I would recommend changing Drs to get the help you need it worked for me
I was sent by my neurologist for an occipital block for 3 months of headaches. Dr Anand's staff provided me with the shot and my pain has improved. I don't need medications including alleve. His office and assistAnt was very helpful.
Did not like him. Very arrogant. Tried one of his injections and it hurt so bad See somebody else
I have worked alongside Dr. Anand for over 8 years. In that time i have had the opportunity to directly observe his OR skills and his patient care. That being said I have referred many friends and family members to him and they have all been treated with great care and respect while receiving excellent care for their chronic pain.
My experience with this doctor trumps all others as the worst experience I have had relative to proper care and relationship. Not only was he rude and VERY judgemental toward me, even other doctors working alongside of him at the hospital, apologized to me for his behavior toward me. Another staff member at Surgies said to me "he is rude to everyone so don't take it personally". At least there was unsolicited validation of my feelings when these other spoke up after witnessing his treatment of me in front of a group of doctors and nurses. I am so glad I don't have to deal with the abuse anymore. The doctor I am seeing now is everything Anand is not. He will eventually get what he deserves as "one reaps what he sews."
This response is fraudulent and under investigation by our practice and the hospital. We do not take our cases to this facility due to 3 hours wait times and this has been reported to the hospital directly. The staff at Surgease are overwhelmed due to EPIC system installation and clearly are venting to patients. All our patients that surgical day continue to follow with us regularly, therefore this response is clearly fraudulent and will be investigated via the internet IP address. Good day.
Dr. Anand listens to you and explains what he thinks would work best for your pain management. He's informative, competent and pleasant and spends time answering questions. His PA is also very nice. His epidural injections are quick & for the most part, painless. I'm very pleased with him and happy to recommend him to other people with arthritic conditions and back problems.
Very knowledgable doctor and I trust him but he lacks a bedside manner and he doesn't spend much time with his patients. He doesn't follow up with patients until the next appointment time. He is prompt. His front desk staff can be rude and can have you sitting there for a while waiting to check in.
No doubting my injury pain...not given heavy meds to mask my pain..(although if there were a severe situation it could be a short-term option)....and compassion, empathy and understanding all-in-one. Referred here by my Orthopedic doctor after a serious work injury....thorough exam was done along with tests. Pain management procedures have been done now for almost five (5) years (thankfully avoiding surgery). I have been treated with utmost respect and kindness and the PA, Anthony, is "tops" as well! I would recommend Dr. Anand very highly with no reservations! His staff is professional and always ready with a smile!
I have spinal stenosis and have seen Dr. Anand for 12 months. I was receiving injections in my back from a doctor in Trumbull for years without any real relief. My gynecogist recommended I see Dr. Anand due to good results with her other patients and friends. I take Neurontin and had a nerve blocker and feel much better now. Dr Anand is very busy in his practice but he has always taken time to answer all my questions and provide me with a plan. I do recommend him due to my experience with other pain doctors.
Extremely rude doctor who talks right over you and doesn't like when you have an opinion about your care. Extreme misdiagnosis...wanted to do epiidural injections when it turned out i had a problem with one of my Internal organs. So many better docs out there...i was very lucky to find one who was able to diagnose me. Suspect that most of the positive ratings below we're written by the office staff...they certainly seem to be watching the ratings very carefully.
Patients are referred to our practice for interventional pain management for orthopedic and spinal conditions, as well as cancer related pain. We offer acupuncture as well. We don't treat gastrointestinal and 'internal organ' problems, and that would be addressed by your PCP and a gastroenterologist. We have diagnosed and treated several thousands of patients with great success. Dr. Anand's reputation is outstanding in Fairfield county and there is no better trained pain medicine physician with outstanding clinical results. I was referred to Dr. Anand by my primary care doctor Dr. C in Derby. I was worried about infecction with epidurals shots and Dr. Anand eased my fears. I had a pain injections that was very helpful. I sent my father for a visit as well and he was happy with his care too. We recommend this doctor in the valley area.
My mother and I have been seeing dr Anand for many years. My mother recently died, and she was very happy with here pain care with the doctor. My family is grateful that our mother has pain relief while on oxygen for her lungs. thanks you.
I have experience with many doctors for different problems and Dr Anand I'd by far the rudest and most uncaring physician I have ever had the bad fortune of dealing with. He does not listen, he interrupts when your speaking as if what your telling him is meaningless and apparently doesn't put things in your file properly as a result. I recently attained my file and see things in there that are completely false an during the visit which I left in tears he told me I should try taking medications that I'm already on and have been on for years! Not only does he not pay attention to what is in your file but he puts things in there that are completely false! Then I find out that balance billing is against the law and I have been making payments on this balance! He has no compassion and assumes whatever he wants without knowing the facts. I guess he picks and choses who should receive proper care and who doesn't deserve it based on his wrongful assumptions. In my opinion he should not be dealing with people who are in pain or people at all for that matter. Maybe he should work in a lab w rats. All people have feelings and deserve proper care regardless of your opinion of them. And you cannot form an honest opinion of someone when you know nothing about them and don't take the time to listen and not judge.
Our practice has NEVER been charged with any billing issues. If you have a legitimate complaint, feel free to contact the Insurance commission or medical board. We bill fairly and consistently, only angry and unsatistied patients looking for narcotic management typically complain. This patient has poor communications skills and has not found a pain doctor to care for them, it appears the patient needs to reassess their attitudes towards physicians. We care for thousands of patients per year with the BEST outcomes in the state. You will not find better results than with Dr. Rahul Anand, MD guaranteed.
I was sent by my primary care doctor. I was offered surgery and wanted a second opinion. Dr A came up with a plan of a series of medications and spine injections. It took a week or so but iam much better. Highly reccommend him
This doctor did not listen to me...repeatedly cut me off and decided he knew what my diagnosis was. When I was not sure I was in agreement, he actually yelled at me and stormed out of the room. Wow.
Typically, a patient listens to their doctors assessment and undergoes testing and procedures the confirm the diagnosis. Apparently, the patient knew their own diagnosis and does not need a pain physician. Good luck.
Dr Anand provied a comprehensive exam following up with diagnostice testing and then providing a diagnosis and a plan of action to treat the issue. The treatments have provided 85% reduction in pain giving me a new lease on life.
I so appreciate the care of Dr. Anand, his PA and office staff. Dr. Anand is careful about the medicines that I take and has other options to offer me other than medication. I have never had this kind of care from any other pain manager and would highly recommend this office.
Dr. Anand was a competent physician that cared about my pain management and treatment. Although my appointment for my procedure was supposed to be another appointment, once *I* made the decision to go ahead, after carefully explained to me by Dr. Anand (and using a model to show me) he told me that he was going to a conference for the following two weeks. He wanted to know if I was available to have the shots done this afternoon (moving his own schedule around) so that I didn't have to wait for him to be back from a conference before managing my pain. What doctor normally does that? Dr. Anand did. The people that are posting negative comments about him are trolling or crazy, from my experience. I'd recommend Dr. Anand and his staff. The only minor thing that I would say is that we (my friend came with me) spoke to the staff about the change in appointment (that I was coming back later) and she didn't recognize me (at first) but that's minor. She was fine once she did. I might suggest that the reception staff try to remember their patients from the same day and get caught up with if and why they are returning on the same day (if that happens) in the future. That's my one minor suggestion.
Dr. Anand is a kind doctor that is treating me with shots and medications. I'm feeling much better than I did one year ago. I have recommended him to many of my friends.
I've been to three different pain docs in the area and had injections from them all but this was the first time that actually had relief of my back. My leg was still bothering me and he implanted a stimulator and that has stopped that pain completely. I'm back to work and better then I've been in years!
Dr. Anund has been caring for my 83 year old mom for the past year treating her for Spinal Stenosis and Arthritis. He has been a God send! She has encourage many of her friends and family to see this doctor. She is so grateful to have a doctor who's so accomodating, knowledgeable, and has a great bedside manner.
Very nice young doctor with good bed side manner. He offered me many more options than other doctors. My pain is much better. I recommend him alot...
Dr. Anand is a fine young doctor that is very caring. I have treated with him for 3 years now. His staff is very respectful to. I used to love talking with the doctors mother also. Dr. Anand has been tretaing my spinal stenois and back arthritis pain with medicatoins and injections. I have sent many patients to him and my daughter and soninlaw see him too. I would recommend him to anybody.
pompous. rude. no qualms about using obscenities when addressing his staff members. though this occurred when he observed his staff members yelling at each other.
This is inappropriate law attorney that is NOT a patient. Our staff is wonderful, and we have a close knit relationship, so this comment makes no sense at all....
As a 3 time cancer survivor I have had many excellent doctors. All the efforts of the best surgeons though they saved my life would have fallen flat when it comes to living my life. Dr. Anand was recommended by my oncologist and proved to be the one doctor that enabled me to continue living my life. The pain that I was left with has been more than controlled by Dr. Anand. His expertise has come up with procedures and devices that make it possible for me to continue working and continue living. Thank you Dr. Anand!!
I waited about 5 minutes for my apointment. Dr. Anado spent much time talking about my problems. I was sent by my orthopedicas doctor for treatment. I am better after a neck shot. I thank him for the help....
this doctor is good. I also had shots in my back and i am better. Highly recommend.
which helps explain the size of his office staff. One of his billing clerks admitted he'd directed her not to submit a $500 bill to my insurance company - although they had already paid him over $4,000 for a procedure. Connecticut Statute 20-7f currently states that it is a violation of the Unfair Trade Practices Act for a health care provider to request payment from an enrollee, other than a copayment or deductible for medical services covered under a managed care plan. HB 5395 expands the statute to (1) deem it a violation if a physician collects or attempts to collect payment from a managed care organization enrollee, other than a copayment or deductible, for medical services covered under a managed care plan and (2) increases the remuneration that must be paid to the enrollee.I have yet to receive a correction showing a zero balance.
This patient was argumentative for no clear reason. She has never been double billed. Her insurance simply does not pay for a catheter/device that is 'written off'. The patient nor her insurance NEVER paid extra money. Nothing has ever happened with this case, and is basically a false statement. We have NEVER had billing issues with any insurance company to date.
Saw this doctor for 2 visits. I got some needles in my back and i was doing better now. He told me to come back in 2 years if mi pain returns.
My mother is older and has alot of spinal problems. She has seen several orthopedic doctors and pain specialists. My last orthopedist sent my mother to Dr. Anand for a second opinion. After several months of diagnosis my mother received a pain pump for all her pain conditions. She is much better now and has a new life. We have the pump filled every 6 months and rarely see doctors anymore. Dr. Anand changed my mothers life. He is a tremendous physician....
I was referred to Dr. Anand by my neurologist and primary care doctor for severe singles pain. Dr. anand gave me a wide range of options including creams and medications. Ultimately, a spinal injection worked the best. I am very indebted to this doctor. Thank you.
I was having sciatica down my leg for 5 years. I saw every doctor in CT. All my testing including MRI and EMG were all normal. Dr. Anand reviewed all my studies and determined a 'transitional vertebrae' caused my pain. Two injecitons later I am as good a 5 years ago. He takes the time to make sure nothing is missed... highly recommended.
I have had chronic back pain for 15 years. I underwent a lumbar spine surgery that failed. I saw several pain doctors and had injections that never worked. Dr. Anand did an epidural that broke up the scar tissue and now my pain is soo much better. He is great, I take not medications now. I can lift my child now. thanks.
A month ago, my mother was suffering excruciating back pain that didn't respond even to morphine. Her oncologist referred us to Dr. Anand, who agreed to see my mother though it was very late on a Friday. He correctly diagnosed her condition and administered an epidural shot to her spine. Almost immediately, she began to feel some relief from the pain. Words cannot express our gratitude for this kind and compassionate doctor, who listened carefully to my mother and treated her with great gentleness. (An MRI later confirmed his diagnosis: a osteoporosis-related collapse of spinal vertebra, which crushed a nerve.)
Doctor told me 3 shots would help My sciatica pain. It took 2 shots, I am working now. He is great.... Thanks doc.
i have had 4 herniated cervical discs and attendant migraine headaches for nearly 20 years. i have similar lumbar injuries. dr anand has been my best treating physician consistently relieving pain with both epidurals and radio frequency treatments.he is always available for emergency appointments.he always explains my deteriorating conditions.
Very good doctor. He gave me 3 injections in by back and I am all better. I can work now. I recommend highly
Dr. Anand is a fine doctor. He has gotten alot of attention lately. The bloggers on this site are clearly biased. He performed acupuncutre and epidural shots on me, and I am better. I highly recommend Dr. Anand...
Dr. Anand is an excellent doctor. He helped me and my family more than any other doctor. He spend lots of time with me ordering tests and physical therapy. He was able to fix my problem better than any one else.
Honest doctor with good bed side manner. Good technical skills with procedures.
As a new patient, this doctor was in the room for literally 5 minutes. He then proceeded to tell me I don't have a condition that I've been being treated for for the past year, by doing a very incomplete exam, actually ignoring a whole body part that I have this condition in. He then said I should have an EMG, needles out into the areas of pain I have, to prove that I have the condition I KNOW I have. He never read the notes I brought him, or the 4 page history form I filled out. He was very rude, and didn't even introduce himself.Only good thing was no wait time, although I see why, we're like cattle being rushed in and out.I left his office in tears... never again.....
This patient did not want testing to confirm a diagnosis, for unclear reasons. We cannot treat hypothetical problems. We have many patients who have been with us for over 7 years, and every patient is treated with respect and dignity. Every patient is given plenty of time for new visits and procedures. This patient simply did NOT want their diagnosis confirmed or worked up, which is medically essential.
I can tell you about my visit with Dr Anand. I do not know anyone else who has seen him. According to his receptionist, his new patient visits are 15 - 20 minutes. Having seen many doctors lately I can tell you the norm, in my experience, is 30 - 40 minutes. He came into exam room, sat down on his stool without making eye contact with me and began talking very fast. Twice I told him he was talking too fast and his response was "that's ok". When he prescribed a new medicine for me that required getting off my current med, he told me how to taper the old med down. When I said I didn't think I could remember that, he told me to "ask my pharmacist" instead of writing it down for me. Overall, he seemed like a very capable doctor with many tool available for treating pain. But when you're in pain you also need to feel a little compassion as well and I didn't feel like he was interested in listening to me at all. So, while he may be a good fit for someone for someone else, he's not my cup of tea.
Read comments above, we are extremely compassionate, especially with all our cancer patients and elderly patients. If you have problems with medications discussing with your physician and pharmacist is important.
