Dr. Rajan Kalia, MD

I’ve been seeing him for about 5 years and having pain Mgt and some procedures. All of a sudden he lets me go as a patient because I turned down a procedure which was the cauterizing of nerves in my back. I explained that I visited an orthopedic who said I had bursitis in my hips & pelvis so I wanted to try the prednisone first but he wasn’t listening...this is after asking him for shots on my shoulders for a whole year which he never did...I was already planning to change doctors so I’m fine with it...you can only see this doctor is you are in need of procedures to alleviate pain.

I have been dealing with pain in neck and back after a car accident. I had to go on disability due to pain. I started seeing Dr. Kalia more than a year ago. He took a very systematic and methodical approach to my pain. Tried treating it with pain medications first, then gave me spine injections that provided great relief. He has lately done kyphoplasty and I am walking and able to go back to work now. Dr. Kalia has kept me away from the neurosurgeon who has been pushing to operate on my back. I am reluctant to go through spine surgeries that most of the time never work. Thank you Dr. Kalia for making me feel better and helping me get back to my life.

He gets rid of my pain!

I came in and was greeted with an hour worth of paperwork. I brought my EMG that showed that I had nerve damage and explained the chronic pain I was experiencing from previous surgeries that I recently had. He checked me over for 5 minutes and told me there was nothing that he could do. I told him that I was scheduled to get an MR Neurography to find nerve damage and he said that I can send it to him but not to bother coming in. He then bills my insurance for over $900 and for blood work that he never did. I've had to see many specialists for my pain, and he was the bottom of the barrel.

Do not go to this doctor. The paperwork took an hour to fill out and then he only sees you for 5 minutes. He didn't even review any of the paperwork that I filled out for his office. My neurologist recommended him for nerve block therapy. I brought the EMG from my neurologist which showed 2 types of nerve damage and he told me it wasn't enough information and rushed me out the door. I let him know that the neurologist was also sending me for more testing and he told me to just send the report and not come in so I don't waste his time. He was very rude and seemed completely disinterested.
