With the first encounter, he was a replacement to my usual doctor. Without even hearing my concerns he tried prescribing new medication for my mother. I struggled against this change knowing the old medication worked if my mother was consistent in it as well as knowing that she has issues swallowing large pills. He answeres with, "Do you want to let her just go and not medicate her? People do that..." I couldn't believe what I was hearing and I could never believe that someone could be so cold right in front of the patients mother. If I'm going through all of this stress and struggle why would I want my mom to just die. His driving point for prescribing the new medication is that there's only one tablet instead of two tiny tablets and one large one that could be crushed down. He said you only have to crush one tablet instead of three. Crushing the tablets was never an issue for me but that tablet was a horsepill! And he said I could crush it but the pharmacy instructions when I got the… package said do not crush or chew. Now he has the original medications on hold and he doesn't want to give the new medication either so my mother is undermedicated and isn't recieving the treatment she went there for. He tried discharging her without even showing up to the office to run final testing but she was wheezing, a symptom she didn't have originally and the treatment wasn't available at home whatsoever. In all, this doctor has lost his purpose for becoming a doctor. It's become a medicine pushing business to him rather than trying to help. He needs to find his passion again because he's playing with the lives of all of his current and future patients like he continues to do with my mother. I'm trying my best to give him the benefit of the doubt but he keeps showing me he doesn't know what he's doing. Somebody suggesting letting my mom go so coldly shouldn't be in the field.
