Simply put, Doctor Parra saved my wifes life, and saved 95 percent of her right kidney during the process. This was no easy task since she had two separate tumors in the one kidney. In Dec 2009 I was diagnosed with right kidney renal cell carcinoma in the upper pole. The tumor was 6cm and was malignant. I was slated for Da Vinci robotic laproscopic surgery. I had seen a few other surgeons whom recommended that the kidney be fully removed. Dr. Parra was the only physician that felt he could save the kidney and remove only the tumor. I'm happy to report that I was given an excellent prognosis with no need for chemo or radiation and the kidney was saved. While the open partial is more invasive I'm confident that this decision allowed Dr. Parra more freedom and to assess the situation in totality. I would highly recommend Dr. Parra and his team.
