Patient-centered care is the foundation to Dr. Richard Adkins’ practice of medicine. “It is how I was trained and how I will always approach the provider-patient relationship,” he said.Dr. Adkins brings more than 30 years experience in the pain management and anesthesiology field to his work at the National Spine and Pain Centers. His previous work includes serving as a staff physician at pain treatment facilities in Tennessee, Florida, Illinois and North Dakota.While putting together individual treatment plans, Dr. Adkins focuses on a multi-modal approach with medication management being an important adjunct to the treatment of pain.He was first drawn to the field of pain management and anesthesiology through his desire to form meaningful and therapeutic relationships with his patients. The connections and friendships continue to drive him in his work today.When not seeing patients, Dr. Adkins likes to surf and spend time with his family.

Dr. Richard Adkins and his staff of nurses and his physician assistant Christie Tucker are awesome group of people that are caring and courteous and concerning about patient care and their relationship with their patients. It is above the most awesome service that I have received and I am happy to say that they are my preferred pain management.

very bad DR spends 2 mins with you and is so bad got kicked out of in net with blue cross of TN .He don't. care about anyone but him self double dips ins company's will never get BCBS of TN ever again ...That should tell you something. he cares about your money. and that's. all....

After reading the other reviews, I was terrified when my insurance sent me to this clinic. However, my experience was wonderful. I have seen Christy, the nurse practitioner for four months now and she has helped me more than any other doctor has in the past. All of the staff members are very kind and make me feel welcome. Do not give any thought to the old negative reviews. This clinic is 5 star, which is very hard to find in a pain clinic in this state.
