This is the third doctor I went to for help. Two other psychiatrists were not able to help me. My medical doctor sent me to Gabel and said that he was the best. She was right because Dr. Gabel took a long time asking me questions and by the end gave me an explaination of what was wrong that I could understand. He was willing to answer my questions and was very nice to my wife when she was worried about me. I saw him for a couple of months and got a lot better. He knows what to do with medicines and is a very good listener. When I was in bad shape he was easy to reach and helped me. I go there about once a month and I am still feeling fine and I can go to work again.

I agree with a previous reviewer - Gabel is rude, seems bored, does not cooperate when new prescriptions are needed - made my wife wait for an hour to pick up a Rx while I was out of town and couldn't make an appointment. What is this - no appointment, no Rx? He was one of the most unsympathetic doctors I've encountered.

Dr. Gabel is currently treating for chronic depression, severe anxiety, opiate addiction and severe tinnitus (ringing of the ears). Prior to seeing Dr. Gabel I had been seen consecutively on a regular basis by 3 other Psychiatrists and he is by far the best clinician. He is polite, courteous, respectful and sympathetic. He is also medicinally responsible and and well versed in psycho-pharmacology. If he isn't completely clear on a subject matter he researches the topic until he can be confident he is providing the highest degree of care. Additionally Dr. Gabel's competency with traditional psychological excel that of any other Psychiatrist I have seen (talk-therapy). He is a genuine individual and an talented physician. I would recommend him to anyone seeking the best of care.

This doctor is uncaring and rude. He does not return phone and refuses to call in prescriptions which he himself has perscribed. His staff is equally rude.

Well I've never described a visit to the doctors office as a "hoot" before but lets just say Dr. Gabel get's IT.I'm still fully drained from the bedside manner, but then was totally blown away by his wholesale gem prices and wrapping skills. I walked away with a very nice piece.hats off sir!

Dr. Gabel is an excellent psychiatrist with an in depth knowledge of psychopharmacology. He gets to the root of the problem and adjusts medications as my condition changes. He is not a "talk therapist." If you need to see a physchiatrist who will treat your problem with prescription drugs, Dr. Gabel is the "go-to guy." In addition, Dr. Gabel does not over perscribe. He keeps a close eye on how much medicine you are taking. For example, if you are reluctant to see a shrink for fear of becoming dependant on drugs like Valium or Xanax, etc. this will NOT happen if you see Dr. Gabel. When you want to get off a medication, Dr. Gabel will set up a tapering schedule. The only negative thing I have to say about Dr. Gabel is that he has a busy practice and often keeps you waiting a long time, or changes appointments at the last minute. Dr. Gabel has helped me so much with my clinical depression. I am now a happy person enjoying life without fear. One last thing - Dr. Gabel is a down-to-earth guy. You feel comfortable talking to him.
