Dr. Richard Joseph Simmons, MD

He’s been my neurologist for 8 years now and has done everything in his power to make sure I stay healthy and safe. Because of his efforts I have got into a career field that I thought would be near impossible with epilepsy, and also helped my family and I through every step when I was first diagnosed with Epilepsy. Anyone who gives this guy less than a 4 is crazy.

Dr. Simmons came across arrogant. My daughter was suffering from sudden onset of neurological symptoms, ultimately, as a result of an anxiety disorder. He , instead , misdiagnosed her as a tic disorder... Tourette’s, which lead to months of unnecessary medication that made her worse. We eventually ended up in the E.R at Albany med where the pediatric neurologists were able to correctly diagnose her and she then began the road to recovery... Medication free.

The entire experience at this practice was wonderful. From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable and confident that you are in good hands.

I would recommend and rate Dr. Simmons as an excellent doctor. After 3 years of misdiagnosis by so called "best doctors" he was the first doctor that actually listened to my husband and I about our daughters problem. Within 2 months of our initial visit we finally had the answers we were looking for.
