Dr. Richard Lee Pitt, DO

I've spent hours there waiting to see him. One time a snowstorm, really? Like I dont have a life outside of his office. 4

I have read the reviews on here that are giving one star ratings and trash talking Dr. Pitt. Those reviews are absolutely lying him. I've been his patient for 16+ years now and I can tell you that he absolutely cares about his patients. He is very knowledgeable in field of practice. He does everything by the book and will explain things to you so you understand. I saw some reviews accusing him of being a pill pusher and that he only cares about the money he is making. I challenge those people to find a cheaper pain clinic in Akron period. I saw the complaints about him eating while working well I'll tell you that he has to sometimes because he can't take an hour lunch break. I saw where some complained about him running late well that will be because he has patients in hospitals and other care facilities that he visits. He listens to what you have to say and will answer any questions you may have. I saw an addiction patient review that was in their own words self dosing. So after he… takes them on as a patient they decide that they are going to break the rules and use marijuana but they were a Suboxone patient. You don't get to treat yourself the doctor treats you. You can all if there is a different treatment you can try, but that is it. There are rules you must follow some are good but most are the laws set in place by the feds and local government. If you can't do that then you need to go elsewhere. All I know is he is nothing like the negative reviews say so if you need a pain doctor he's your man. Thank you Dr. Pitt for all that you do.

Called twice on working days and he wasn’t even at his office for addiction he won’t bill insurance instead he wants $300.00 cash first visit then you’re other visits are $165.00 other places charge $125.00 just look at his picture and you can tell he’s a ___ hole I would not go to this doctor he could careless about you he just wants your cash do you think hes reporting that cash to the irs I doubt it

All of these NEGATIVE reviews are lies! This doctor takes time with patients and answers their questions. He has helped me greatly.

I couldn’t even see this doctor because of a drone-like staff. I had to leave Akron 1.5 years ago because my father has Parkinson’s. I have AS and it affects every aspect of my life. I have two semesters left of law school, a history of pain management in Ohio and here, and because I don’t have an Ohio Drivers License, his staff (and office manager) categorically said I couldn’t be seen. I’ll have my eye on this scumbag to sue one day for this outrageous treatment I swear to god.

Dr. Pitt is very professional. He listens to what I need to tell him & he works very hard. Once when I couldn't make it to my appointment because I broke my leg, he came to my house. The office staff is very nice and they are helpful. He even comes in on weekends for sake of the patients. I give a 100%. Go Dr. Pitt!

How can someone get away with this? He's more of a drug pusher that gets people addicted to pain pills so they keep coming back and he can keep making money off of them. Such a sad dilema.

Took me in off the street because i told them i was dosing myself and couldn’t afford it anymore, so they handed me a script of suboxone with just knowledge of what i told the guy i was dosing myself and that’s what he gave me. fast forward couple months cannabis starts showing up in my drug test because i was using cannabis to to just get off everything. Once he noticed i had more levels of thc than levels of suboxone he finally said something and said i could continue to use my cannabis but he wouldn’t be able to send my drug tests out and that it would cost more cash for him to just use a test in the office. obviously that sounds fishy, plus the fact he wanted me to have my dose of suboxone in my body even tho i seemed myself down to .5 mg a day. finally left that joke doctor and have been sober 2.5 years with just cannabis. Time to take this guy out his practices are horrible.

Refuses to listen to patients. Ask anyone in waiting room. Trust me,you'll be there long enough to do so. Only cares about stories of himself.

I've read some other reviews about Dr. Pitt as related to pain management and some patients like him. But if you are seeing him for help with addiction issues, save your money! He spends time with his patients but from my experience he is not helping. He mainly talks about himself. Also he doesn't accept any type of insurance from us, he makes us pay cash. He used to devote 2 days a week to this, but now he is double booking appts 1 day a week. He is not helping anyone but himself. On top of all this he is raising his rates in 2017. He has no compassion and just doesn't seem to care. Most of us end up stuck in his office for 4-5 hours whenever we have an appt. His nurses are great, but that is not enough of a reason to go there, as they are not the ones seeing patients (unless you count the one that has to watch you pee in a cup) Save your money and choose another doctor or you will be sorry!
