After my first child and having the experience of this fabulous Dr... during our rotations...I second guessed myself... I had always preferred a female Ob/gyn. However, I was very wrong to say the least. After a difficult pregnancy, he was actually the dr. who admitted me and really listened to my needs. My BP had reached an unhealthy rate and things were not going as planned. My daughter was not doing well and I really believe due to his caring nature... she made it through a difficult delivery. The second time around, I knew there would be no doubts or questions as to who my Dr. would be... he is a caring physician who takes time to listen. With both of my pregnancies... high blood pressure loomed and he could always tell when I needed to go on bedrest in order to finish the pregnancy...not with ease but with me being well taken care of. I can't say enough about his bedside manner and his attention to details... he remembers so much about his patients and spends time to see all your questions are answered. He has a great sense of humor and a way to make his patients feel at ease.
Dr. Taavon was our OB for our second child, born in June 2002. What I liked most about Dr. Taavon was his genuine care for me and my baby. It always amazed me that in the middle of a clearly busy schedule, when it was my turn, it was as though I was the only patient he had. He is very down to earth and very knowledgeable. Since I had an emergency c-section for baby #1, one of the issues I had in looking for an OB for my second delivery was a doctor who would encourage me to try for VBAC. Dr. Taavon was a great believer in this and encouraged me all the way - even down to the last 15 minutes when it didn't look like I was going to finish dilating. He told me that if I didn't finish dilating in the next 15 minutes 'we're not going to fool around and we're going to surgery - OK?'. He rejoiced with us when he did th recheck and I was ready to push!I fully believe that his calm and reassuring attitude made for the best delivery. Certainly the most fun! Thank you Dr. T!!
Yes, wait time is awful, but worth it. He delivered 2 of 3 of my babies. He saved my 2nd delivery's life by quickly diagnosing shoulder dystocia. Hid diagnosis: no future deliveries over 7 pounds. 4 years later he induced labor, safely delivering baby weighing, no joke, 6 pounds 15 ounces. He nailed it. His father was an OB-Gyn and Taavon knows his stuff- professional, intelligent, calm and extremely talented doctor. Highly recommend for all pregnancies.
Hands down, this is the best doctor of any I have ever seen.
