Dr. Richard Fredrick Wessel Jr, MD

Has is a Drug addict and has been for well over a decade. Has lost his medical license 3x times in NC and is currently facing 4th loss in NY. Read the public NC medical board files online to confirm following: He performed pacemaker surgery while intoxicated in NC. Was caught when he stole blood sample from hospital patient to submit as his own blood in attempt to pass sobriety test in NC. DWI in NC. Has had multiple drug possession charges while actually in his medical practice offices in NC and NY (including cocaine and opioids). Was convicted for stealing prescription drugs from his own patient’s pill bottles (many, many patients) in NY after asking them to bring all their meds to office for his review, then he sent them out of room so he could take a few for himself. These are NOT allegations. They are all confirmed charges that are detailed in the many medical board sanctions against him. If you value your life, find someone else. The man is junkie and this has been going on for… well over a decade. He has been through rehab many times and is unable to get clean long term. Unbelievable that medical boards in two states keep allowing him to regain his license over and over and over. Likeable man, personally, but he is a hard core drug addict.

Dr. Wessel treated my father some years ago and my family found him to be so genuine. Because his treatment for my father was and still is so wonderful, I went to see him also. He diagnoised my problem, ran futher test to make certain it was correct and treated me with medication. I love this doctor and have talked to so many that see him that say the same thing. He truly does care.
