Our children have been seeing Dr. Chandra and her group for over 5 years now. We are very, very happy. Dr. Chandra saved my newborn's life. She has also been extremely helpful in managing my son's ADHD and anxiety. We love it that the therapist is also in the same office. Kudos to Dr. Chandra for running a lovely practice and for bringing more and more services to Phenix City.
Dr. Chandra has taken care of our kids for over 8 years and we admire her tremendously- she is brilliant, kind and compassionate. Our kids have fun with her and they always enjoy a visit to the doctor. The staff is wonderful too.
Has no concerns about her patients. Completely inpersonal and no compassion towards her patients. The more she makes you come in the mire she can bill your insurance!! Has no regard when wasting your time!
Dr. Chandra has been such a wonderful pediatrician to all my grand kids. She has taken care of our grand kids for the last 6 years and we are grateful to her for always being there for our family- very good doctor, really fun with the kids, office is nice and staff is friendly. She has our highest recommendation
Dr. Chandra has been such an awesome pediatrician for our kids- she is always very professional, very friendly and fun with the kids and always takes the time to explain every thing to us. For any families who are looking for a good pediatrician, we highly recommend Dr. Chandra
Dr Chandra is a competent pediatrician with a charismatic side. She's always accurate in her diagnosis and makes my son feel comfortable. We've been fortunate enough to never have a problem during our visits. Although spirits are low when my son is not well we know we're being taken care of and I'm glad that she's our provider and friend.
Our family absolutely loves Dr. Chandra. She has helped my child tremendously- my son had been diagnosed with ADHD and he was having side effects with all the different medications. However, Dr. Chandra is thee only pediatrician who was able to give him the right medicines for the ADHD- he suddenly accelerated in reading and his grades and his self esteem shot up too. Dr. Chandra also very astutely picked up on his anxiety and started treating that as well- my child has a whole new personality- he has never been happier with going to school and he goes to birthday parties- he never did that before. If your child has ADHD, she is decidedly the best!!!
Dr. Chandra is the best pediatrician that our kids have had. Since we are military we have been moved several times and so we have had experiences with multiple pediatricians. Our kids always look forward to seeing Dr. Chandra because she comes down to their level to talk to them, always gives them hugs and stickers- the kids are always excited to see Dr. Chandra. From a parents' perspective- we always get a same day appointment, Dr. Chandra is always accurate with her diagnostic skills. Overall, everyone in the office is nice and friendly. We are thrilled that our kids see Dr. Chandra.
Four of my grandchildren have gone to Dr. Chandra since they were infants. On the positive side: love the location; until recently the wait time was incredible, in and out. That has changed since her practice has expanded to include adults, she has opened another office, and doctors have left. The nursing staff has always been very nice. Negative: She accepts Medicaid but appears to have a distinct distaste for those who use it. Examples: my grandson and his significant other took one of their children in; she rudely asked, "Don't either of you work?" At the time, my grandson was working TWO part-time jobs, but still qualified for Medicaid for the children. Another time she commented on his clothing, he was wearing something similar to sleep pants. As an older person I don't find that attire acceptable either, BUT, chastising a patient's parent for the way they dress is not the way to establish a positive relationship with that parent. Two of the children now live with me so I take them in now. I try to avoid seeing Dr.Chandra but when it is necessary she always asks about the parents and ALWAYS makes disparaging comments, in front of the children who are now old enough to understand. I really liked Dr.Rumph and would ask for her when I made an appointment, but she left. Dr. Vernika was my next choice, but when I called recently and tried to get an appointment I was told she is no longer with the practice either. I didn't make an appointment. Hoping I can find another doctor in the area as the thought of having no choice but to see Dr.Chandra really causes my BP to rise. I see her commercials on TV, and don't know whether to laugh or barf. Blowing bubbles with a patient. Never seen any interaction between her and a patient that even came close to being friendly, let alone playful. Obviously staged. I do not think my experience is isolated. The staff in the front do not last long, you rarely seem the same people twice. Dr. Rumph didn't stay long. I think she is difficult to work with/for because she has a class conscious mentality which influences the way she treats those who she perceives to be of lower status, like lowly staff and Medicaid patients.
Our kids have been seeing Dr. Chandra for over 4 years and we absolutely love Dr. Chandra and her office- the doctor has always been spot-on with her diagnosis and management of my children. The entire staff goes over and beyond to help us. I do not know any other office that is open every Saturday, to keep kids out of the ER and to help working parents. Tricare forced us to go back on post a few months ago. My kids and I missed Dr. Chandra. So, we happily changed to Tricare Standard and it is so worth it...to have the peace of mind of seeing the same pediatrician each time and to know that our kids are in good hands.
Dr. Chandra is the best pediatrician in all of Columbus and Phenix City. She has been seeing our children for several years. We like her because her diagnosis is always correct, she spends time in talking to the kids, kids always look forward to seeing her, parents feel comfortable asking her questions. Office is also very upscale and clean and child friendly.
Super nice pediatric office. We love it- always get an appointment, kids enjoy the jungle lobby with the treehouse, toys in the waiting room and the super cool exam rooms- my son always asks for the Toy Story Room and my daughter is crazy about the Princess Room. The doctors are wonderful- v competent and personable. We would very highly recommend Phenix City Children's to anyone looking for a pediatrician in the Columbus area.
Dr. Chandra has been the doctor for my children and for several of my nieces and nephews for the last 8 years. I can tell you that she is very good at what she does, she is very thorough with the patients and she is a very smart pediatrician. I also admire her for the amount she does for the community- always giving prizes or sponsorhips to kids, takes time to do talks with school staff and parents and she supports a lot of organizations in Phenix City and Russell County.
Dr. Chandra and the entire office are really the best. We love them because they go over and beyond. So many times they have gone over and beyond for us- for giving us a late appointment, getting us specialist appointments, seeing us on a Saturday, calling and checking on a sick child and ofcourse, what all Dr. Chandra does for the community is unparalleled. The office is also so-s beautiful and fun for children- the entire lobby looks like a jungle and each exam room has a different fun theme.
Dr. Chandra takes the time to explain the issues and ensure you are comfortable with your child's care. One of the best experience I have had with a primary care doctor. No long wait and a caring staff.
Dr. Chandra took care of our daughter since she was born at St Francis Hospital in Columbus. Our daughter did have complications right after she was born. Dr. Chandra was very quick to diagnose her condition, she was super with explaining the diagnosis to us new parents and a whole bunch of worried grandparents and aunts and uncles. She took excellent care of our baby girl and got her home with us in 3 days. We appreciate Dr. Chandra- excellent professionally and outstanding bedside manner and caring and compassion. Visits to the office have also been outstanding. We would highly recommend Dr. Chandra as a pediatrician for a newborn.
Very upset that I was basically shoved a copy into my hands to fill out for reviews. It is like they were begging for compliments. I have heard how she has spoken to her staff and I believe that it is downright unacceptable! She is pretty determined that every child has ADHD and does not agree if a patient would like to get a second opinion. It seems like the staff is always changing. I really enjoyed the crew they had before this one. The front desk was always a pleasure seeing and the ladies in the back were phenominal. Now only one of the same ladies is left and the other employees are no longer there. It's sad to see good people leave but obviously they are in a much better situation now that they are not there. I am hoping to switch doctors soon.
I would certainly choose this doctor again. I have told all my friends about her. She is kind but to the point and honest with me. Glad to have a person who really cares!!! Thank you Dr. Chondra.
As a parent, we have the right to choose who our child's doctor will be. Building a strong bond with their doctor is important because you want them to be able to open up to them in the future should a problem arise that your child may not want to tell you, the parent. At Phenix City Childrens, your rights are not recognized. The doctors speak harshly to the parents and my child has never felt " care" from the doctors. Not to mention that too many other doctors have come and gone with no warning. Plus being on Medicaid, we were treated ugly by the head doctor there. She should just not accept it if she thinks so ill of people on Medicaid. Save yourself the headache and take your babies to a doctor that cares!! Not one that is so convinced that everyone has ADHD or some kind of behavior problem. Or fat!! I have an extremely tall child and is pretty skinny but they feel he is fat because of what a chart says he should be at his "age'.
Great pediatrician, diagnosed my daughter with a heart condition the first day we saw her and we are now in Birmingham getting treatment for something that was missed for 5 years before seeing Dr. Chandra. God Bless her.
What a child friendly office. Made my little girl happy the minute we entered. Dr. Chandra and her team took care of the problem we had right there. She even showed me the difference to my kid's lungs before and after neboolizing treatment. Would not go anywhere else.
this is the worse doctor ever'she gave my baby girl shot while sick
Good doctor. Very well run office. In and out in 40 mins and able to get to work on time and my kids are well taken care off. Very nice bedside manner unlike other pediatricians in town
Dr. Chandra will do what is needed for the health of your child. God is witness that she has been very caring with our little Jenny. She diagnosed her asthma even though there was no outward issues. Now we have a healthy, happy kid who can run around and not get breathless. The other reviews here are very biased. Go to this doc...you will not regret it. Don't believe the haters here!!!
She is wonderful. I would recommend Dr Chandra to anybody. She has been helping my son since he was little, and she is the best.
Love this office, Dr. Chandra is outstanding and very detailed on all treatments. Very impressed and love how I feel when I'm there.
Dr. Chandra is the best pediatrician that we have found for our children. I cannot thank her enough for some of the diagnoses that she made for my son- he had had the same problem for the past 4 years and Dr. Chandra was the only one who diagnosed him currently. My children absolutely love seeing Dr. Chandra- she gets down to their level and makes them feel so special. I very highly recommend Dr. Chandra and her office.
Dr. Chandra always takes great care of my children and I. She takes time to answer any questions or concerns that I may have and does a wonderful job with us.
Dr. Chandra is a superb pediatrician. My kids love her and we cannot thank her enough for what all she has done for our kids.
i love this office. they have a great staff. Dr. Chandra is a wonderful Dr!
My child and me love seeing Dr. Chandra. She has helped my child a lot. The office staff is also friendly and courteous and professional. We would like to take Dr. Chandra with us when we move.
I love all the pediatricians at Phenix City Children's. Dr. Chandra has been my children's pediatrician for the last seven years. She has seen us through some very tough situations, including when my child was in the ICU. Dr. Chandra is a brilliant pediatrician, her bedside manners are fantastic and her commitment to her patients is unparalleled. The amount of work that she does for kids in the community is truly commendable.
Dr Chandra is an awesome pediatrician- my kids have a blast when they see her and us parents always feel that she knows her stuff, she takes the time to explain everything to us and she is thorough with taking a history, analyzing the information and making a correct diagnosis. She is definitely very sharp. We also enjoy seeing the other 2 pediatricians, the friendly staff and the beautiful office. When we move the next time, we are going to have to take her with us! Superb pediatric group.
Just moved to the area (Military wife with 3 kids). Research online did not give me a clear opinion so I asked my friends who insisted that the reviews online sometimes were vicious and she was a caring doctor. I have seen her 4 times with my kids and was happy each time. She gave us required referrals, advised me to stop smoking and I could not be more satisfied. I thought I would write this so that others online could read a simple review.
Dr. Chandra has been my kids doctor since 2000 before she was married, before she had her daughter, and before she moved into this nice new building I had to complain about until the last four years. Dr. Chandra has become very arrogant and rude to patients and parents. I've recent had a visit with her where she has made me feel that I wasn't doing my job as a parent and my daughter who is ADD/OCD is scared to see her thinking that Dr. Chandra and I would have another shouting match. When you call for a visit you can almost be sure to get a voicemail that they will return your call or you get put on hold. I've been called to the back and had to wait more then 2hrs before someone comes in to see my daughter. Now when I call for an appt. I will see any Doctor other then Dr. Chandra she's down right RUDE! The front office reps. have also agreed on how hard it is to work with Dr. Chandra
Dr. Chandra has only been practicing here since 2006; therefore, she could not have been your children's doctor since 2000. However, we want ALL of our patients and their families to have a great experience with us, and we hate that you have felt this way. Please feel free to call our PMG PR Manager at any time to discuss your complaints.
I have 4 kids. We are a military family and have seen tons of facilities and pediatricians over the years. We are truly ecstatic to have found Dr Chandra and her 2 offices- we usually go to Fort Mitchell Clinic but we have also been seen at Phenix City Children's. Dr. Chandra is amazing with my kids, she knows her stuff and she is on point with the parents.
I switched to Dr. Chandra at Phenix City Children's after being treated rather rudely by my former pediatricians office staff. She relates extremely well with my ADHD/gifted child, coordinates her care with the specialists treating her , most being involved before she came into the picture, and always shares her knowledge with the community-not just those who pay her. She also encourages her young patients to communicate with her, which may appear threatening to some parents, but it helps children become comfortable and confident in relating to doctors as adults. I recommend her to everyone, especially children with ADHD and related challenges. She's awesome with them!
We went there and she was very rude and refused to change my childs medicine he was allergic to. I had to go to the emergency room to change it. We found out he was allergic to it. How irresponsible! NEVER bring your child here. She lies on patients to other doctors and the staff never answers the phone.
Dr. Chandra has been an outstanding physician for all three of my children. She has been my daughters doctor since birth, and is wonderful with helping me handle my oldests ADHD and depression. I am going to miss her when we pcs; if only we could take her with us.
Dr. Chandra was my son's first doctor. She was the doctor who saw him in the hospital and the only reason we changed doctors is because we moved. But she was amazing! Her level of concern, compassion, urgency, love and devotion is amazing! My son has pyloric stenosis when he was 6 weeks old (and of course over a holiday weekend). She tried and tried too get a radiologist to do a scan on my baby and when all the hospitals in Columbus, GA refused to call in a radiologist on the weekend, she called a radiologist friend of hers and had her do the scan on my son. She was right in her initial diagnosis and sent my son to UAB Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Chandra called me everyday we were there and made sure I knew she cared for my son and his well being! She is an amazing doctor and I wish she practiced in Georgia!
Dr Chandra is the best around!! Shes very knowledgeable and my son actually loves to come !!
Don't waste your time....
We are sorry that you feel this way, but with Dr. Chandra most patients are 100% satisfied that they get in and out of our office within 1 hour at most appointments. We think this wait time is much shorter than many other doctors' offices in the nation.
My 3 kids have been going to Phenix City Children's for the last 4 years. We absolutely love them. My oldest had 'behavioral' problems and Dr. Chandra made the astute diagnosis of Asperger's and gave us wonderful referrals, the second one had ADHD and he is doing so awesome on his meds, the third child was a premie and a NICU graduate and had multiple issues- all the issues are behind us now- thanks to Dr. Chandra and Dr. Vernekar. I cannot thank these doctors enough. They have been a Godsend to our family. Love them.
Phenix City Children's and their pediatricians are THE BEST. We and our children absolutely love this office. The kids think that the visit to the doctor's office is a fun outing-they always get high 5s, stickers or toys. The doctors take ample time with me to explain everything and answer questions. If anyone has negative comments about this practice, they need to look in the mirror coz that person has a problem, not this practice
I took my children to her and from the beginning she was very rude. The staff sent the wrong files to the clinic doing the lead test. I had to call them with the results of any testing or check ups they had done. The staff let me stand at the desk while they talked among each other for ten minutes. I had to say something. This office is very unprofessional and the doctor is rude. She does not take the time to know anything about the kids either. DO NOT waste your time here!
My kids and me love Dr. Chandra and her staff. We would not go anywhere else.
Horrible pediatrician. There are plenty of good doctors in the Columbus / PC area and she is NOT one of them.
We are so sorry that you feel this way and wish you the best of luck in your search for the pediatrician who will be the best fit for your family. However, we are happy to report that Dr. Chandra is recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama as a top performer in patient satisfaction across the board.
I took my son to this doctor after he was released from the hospital. He was 2 months premature. Every time she saw him she acted like she had never s ...
For my sons one year check up- we ended up spending 4 HOURS in the office and I had scheduled his appt. a month in advance. For a second check up due to weight issues, we waited 3 HOURS!!! Then she was supposed to send a referral over to another Dr and not only did it not happen, I couldn't get the office to call me back, much less answer the phone. Terrible office staff and even worse waiting time. I don't know what would happen if I ever had to go in for a sick visit. I guess we would be waiting there all day. Please, do NOT go to this Dr. if you feel your time is important and if you want your children to be referred to the appropiate Dr's if needed.
We wish you had a better experience with our office in 2010 during our expansion to the South Railroad St. office. In fact, since that time period, we added two additional pediatricians so that our office operates at a much faster pace. As a group practice, you get the best of both worlds- 1 doctor you can see consistently as well as the option to see another provider if your doctor is out of the office. In an effort to improve our customer service, we have also hired many new patient-oriented staffers, so our office is quite different today than it was in 2010. We hope that you are happy where you are today or even consider giving us a second chance to make things right!
