My father was a patient of Dr. Ballard and we had a horrible experience. Dr. Ballard was performing lung surgery with a scope and accidentally nicked a artery he ended up having to open my father up to stop the enormous amount of blood he lost which ended up having my fathers blood pressure drop and they lost him for a few minutes. Thank God they were able to resuscitate him and he is alive today. What was supposed to be a 2 hour surgery turned into a 4 hours surgery and no one came out to tell us what was going on. When Dr. Ballard approached us he told us that the surgery did not go well that he was on a respirator and he had to end up going in more than he thought he would. He didn't tell us until after the fact that the reason he lost so much blood was due to a mistake he made. I would not recommend Dr. Ballard as a General Surgeon.

Dr. Ballard has horrible bed side manner. Not very friendly. Not comforting at all. He never smiled. Made us uncomfortable.
